Prof. Francesca Aureli is an Associate Professor at the Department of Engineering and Architecture of the University of Parma. She completed her doctoral studies in Hydraulic Construction at the Polytechnic University of Milan, Italy. She recently led the project "Innovative low-head and ecologically improved turbines and sustainable generators for small hydropower in existing infrastructures". She has published 29 articles in various international journals and serves as a reviewer for many of them. Her teaching disciplines include hydropower, hydrology, and river basin restoration, and her research interests include synthetic design hydrographs, dam break, and flood numerical modelling through parallelized 2D SWE codes, as well as the experimental modelling of dam break.
