Based on actual safety management difficulties and needs, this paper aims to screen and extract the key accident potential factors of personal injuries and deaths within the electric power industry to provide a reference for electric power companies’ accident prevention effort. First, this document sorts out and analyzes all of the causes and influencing elements that may lead to the occurrence of electric personal injuries and deaths, based on which rough accident potential factors are initially identified and combined with the definition of accident potentials. Second, this paper mines and analyzes relevant accident report texts using text-mining technologies such as term count, word cloud, and term frequency–inverse document frequency (TF-IDF), and thus a system of key accident potential factors for personal injuries and deaths within the electric power industry, including three key factors (human, material, and management), is finally constructed. Workers’ habitual violation behavior, in particular, has a larger risk than other key accident potential components, implying that additional steps should be made to eradicate this type of critical accident potential in time.

With the rapid development of information technology, microblog sentiment analysis (MSA) has become a popular research topic extensively examined in the literature. Microblogging messages are usually short, unstructured, contain less information, creating a significant challenge for the application of traditional content-based methods. In this study, the authors propose a novel method, MSA-USSR, in which user similarity information and interaction-based social relations information are combined to build sentiment relationships between microblogging data. They make use of these microblog–microblog sentiment relations to train the sentiment polarity classification classifier. Two Sina-Weibo datasets were utilized to verify the proposed model. The experimental results show that the proposed method has a better sentiment classification accuracy and F1-score than the content-based support vector machine (SVM) method and the state-of-the-art supervised model known as SANT.

The large-scale construction of subway systems, which is viewed as one of the potential measures to mitigate traffic congestion and its resulting air pollution and health impact, is taking place in major cities throughout China. However, the literature on the impact of the new subway line openings on particulate matter with a diameter less than 10 µm (PM10) at the city level is scarce. Employing the Propensity Score Matching–Difference-in-differences method, this paper examines the effect of the new subway line openings on air quality in terms of PM10 in China, using the daily PM10 concentration data from January 2014 to Dececember 2017. Our finding shows that the short-term treatment effect on PM10 is more controversial. Furthermore, for different time windows, the result confirms an increase in PM10 pollution during the short term, while the subway line openings improve air quality in the longer term. In addition, we find that the treatment effect results in high PM10 pollution for cities with 1–2 million people, while it improves air quality for cities with over 2 million people. Moreover, for cities with varying levels of GDP, there is evidence of a reduction in PM10 after the subway line openings. Mechanism analysis supports the conclusion that the PM10 reduction originated from substituting the subway for driving.

In recent years, power grid accidents have occurred frequently and higher requirements have been placed on their safety operation. In current safety management in the world, there is an effective practice that uses a unified standard for structuring an accident case database and based on that database, conducts quantitative analysis to cope with accident risks. However, that is not the case for power safety management. Case-based reasoning (CBR) is such a process that solves new problems based on the solutions to similar past problems. It works by matching a current problem with historical cases and solutions in a database, in order to obtain similar case solutions or inspirations. In the matching process, if necessary, such past solutions may be modified in order to better adapt to the current actual problems. Based on the CBR method, this paper proposes how to construct a case database of power grid operational accidents, provide data support for management of power grid risks and provide knowledge services for accurate grasping of grid accident development dynamics and making quick decisions to rapidly response to the emergencies. First, it designs an operational accident case database after considering the following three aspects: case features, power grid features and accident features based on safety management theory. Secondly, in terms of how to use the power grid operational accident case database, it proposed a two-level search strategy, as well as the corresponding similarity calculation methods for different feature attributes of the case. Finally, it carried out a demonstration to verify the model by selecting four typical grid accidents. The grid database and CBR strategy proposed in this article could help China’s power grids practice intelligent analysis of grid operational accidents and improve digitalization in safety management.

With the development of power grid and the widespread use of power, the impact of power safety is becoming more and more important. Meanwhile, Internet and Internet of Things have both provided new technical and management ideas for power safety. Combining literature research and field investigation on safety management of Jiangsu Electric Power Company, this paper focuses on solving the problem of electric power companies’ safety capabilities. First, based on the idea of data-driven management and decision-making, power safety risks are identified according to electric power companies’ actual business situation and therefore, safety capability evaluation index system is created. Second, the weight of each indicator is determined according to the proportion of safety risks in historical accidents. Finally, considering the problem of information lack in electric power safety management in China, this paper uses Grey Fixed Weight Clustering Theory including determining thresholds of each indicator and constructing whitening weight functions to make an evaluation of electric power companies’ safety capabilities which could help managers learn about their own existing safety levels and provide them a reference for future decisions.

The Yangtze River Delta (YRD) region is one of the most densely populated and economically developed areas in China, which provides an ideal environment with which to study the various strategies, such as compact and polycentric development advocated by researchers to reduce air pollution. Using the data of YRD cities from 2011–2017, the spatial durbin model (SDM) is presented to investigate how compactness (in terms of urban density, jobs-housing balance, and urban centralization) and poly-centricity (in terms of the number of centers and polycentric cluster) affect PM10 emissions. After controlling some variables, the results suggest that more jobs-housing-balanced and centralized compactness tends to decrease emissions, while poly-centricity by developing too many centers is expected to result in more pollutant emissions. The effect of high-density compactness is more controversial. In addition, for cities with more private car ownerships (>10 million within cities), enhancing the polycentric cluster by achieving a more balanced population distribution between the traditional centers and sub-centers could reduce emissions, whereas this mitigated emissions effect may be limited. The difference between our study and western studies suggests that the correlation between high-density compactness and air pollution vary with the specific characteristics and with spatial planning implications, as this paper concludes.

This study aims to understand the determinants of consumer satisfaction with bed-and-breakfast establishments (B&Bs) and build a hierarchical structure of these determinants. Content analysis was conducted based on the consumer online review data. Ten determinants of customer satisfaction were identified. The interpretive structural modeling (ISM) technique was then used to develop a five-level hierarchical structural model based on these determinants. Finally, the cross-impact matrix multiplication applied to the classification (MICMAC) technique was used to analyze the driver and dependence power for each determinant. This study has the potential to make significant contributions from both the theoretical and practical perspectives.

Internet finance is a new financial model that applies Internet technology to payment, capital borrowing, and lending and transaction processing. In order to study the internal risks, this paper uses the Internet finance risk elements as the network node to construct the complex network of Internet finance risk system. Different from the study of macroeconomic shocks and Finance institution data, this paper mainly adopts the perspective of a complex system to analyze the systematic risk of Internet finance. By dividing the entire financial system into Internet finance subnet, regulatory subnet, and traditional financial subnet, the paper discusses the relationship between contagion and contagion among different risk factors and concludes that risks are transmitted externally through the internal circulation of Internet finance, thus discovering potential hidden dangers of systemic risks. The results show that the nodes around the center of the whole system are the main objects of financial risk contagion in the Internet finance network. In addition, macro-prudential regulation plays a decisive role in the control of the Internet finance system and points out the reasons why the current regulatory measures are still limited. This paper summarizes a research model that is still in its infancy, hoping to open up new prospects and directions for us to understand the cascading behaviors of Internet finance risks.

To stand out in the hot spring tourism industry, customer satisfaction has become the crucial issue for competitiveness. A company cannot implement several customer satisfaction improvement practices altogether with limited resources. Researchers advocate that companies should evaluate the relationships among success factors and explore determinants for their improvement implementation. However, such a relationship evaluation has not yet been adequately performed. This paper intends to explore the determinants for improving hot spring customer satisfaction. Adopting grounded theory (GT) and using data collected from websites, Ctrip and Qunar, the first 12 key factors for customer satisfaction were identified. Then, their interrelationships were assessed by 15 experts, and interpretive structural modeling (ISM) was employed to analyze the interrelationships and the driving and dependence power among key factors. The results show that “Environment Quality”, “Special Resource”, “Convenience”, “Food”, Service Quality”, and “Facilities” were the decisive factors affecting customer satisfaction. The findings offer important implications for hot spring management and practice. The contribution of this study is using a novel approach to establish a hierarchical structural model for comprehensive understanding of factor relationships that influence hot spring tourists’ satisfaction and to explore decisive factors which can help hot spring practitioners to better plan and design effective improvement strategies to attract potential new consumers and retain their current consumers, especially with limited resources.

Construction project management usually has a high risk of safety-related accidents. An opportunity to proactively improve safety performance is with near-miss information, which is regarded as free lessons for safety management. The research status and practice; however, presents a lack of comprehensive understanding on what near-miss information means within the context of construction safety management. The objective of this study is to fill in this gap. The main findings enrich the comprehensive understanding of the near-miss definition, the near-miss causation model, and the process of near-miss management. Considering that near-misses are more tacit and obscure than accidents, the process for near-miss management involves eight stages: discovery, reporting, identification, prioritization, causal analysis, solution, dissemination, and evaluation. The first three stages aim to make near-misses explicit. The other five are adopted to better manage near-miss information, compiled in a well-designed near-miss database (NMDB). Finally, a case study was conducted to show how near-miss information can be utilized to assist in construction safety management. The main potential contributions here are twofold. Firstly, corresponding findings provide a knowledge framework of near-miss information for construction safety researchers who can go on to further study near-miss management. Secondly, the proposed framework contributes to the guidance and encouragement of near-miss practices on construction sites.

During the past several years, many governments and non-government organizations in the world made efforts to promote policies and activities regarding corporate social responsibility and proposal of relevant regulations. However, scandals of international financial organizations and transnational corporations are enduring issues, which threaten to reduce social responsibility to a mere corporate slogan. This is not only the basis for sustainable operations but, also it is a vital academic issue. Understanding the factors behind the intention of a corporation’s social responsibility practice is a problem that governments and other governance organizations urgently need to solve and is also an issue that scholars and other relevant workers need to pay attention to and investigate. This study tries to discuss the behavioral intention behind social responsibility practices, and to point out exogenous factors, corresponding with theory of reasoned action, among the factors proposed by literature regarding corporate social responsibility. Then we apply structural equation modelling to analyze each hypothesis of the study. Finally, the results show several determinants which empirically affect behavioral intentions towards social responsibility practices. This study serves as a supplement for present literature, which did not clearly explain the reason why corporations hesitate to put social responsibility into action. In addition, although the theory of reasoned action was widely used to discuss the motive of various reasoned actions, the current study might be a pioneer in using theory of reasoned action to discuss the behavioral models for corporate social responsibility practices and discussing the applicability of the theory of reasoned action based on empirical data.

An improved quality function deployment model based on integration of design failure mode and effects analysis and 2-tuple linguistic is proposed to guide the design scheme selection in the product redesign process. By adopting the entropy weight approach, the risk priority number of the risk assessment index is improved. Meanwhile, the improved results are fed back in quality function deployment to reassess the target values. In addition, the accuracy of the model on the basis of 2-tuple linguistic is improved in the process of information evaluation and data processing. Finally, the model is applied in the case of gear reducer to demonstrate its applicability. This model can not only improve the product’s reliability, but also enhance the quality of product by taking the customers’ needs and product’s risk priority number into consideration simultaneously and therefore improve the market competitiveness of the products.

A traditional collaborative filtering recommendation algorithm has problems with data sparseness, a cold start and new users. With the rapid development of social network and e-commerce, building the trust between users and user interest tags to provide a personalized recommendation is becoming an important research issue. In this study, we propose a probability matrix factorization model (STUIPMF) by integrating social trust and user interest. First, we identified implicit trust relationship between users and potential interest label from the perspective of user rating. Then, we used a probability matrix factorization model to conduct matrix decomposition of user ratings information, user trust relationship, and user interest label information, and further determined the user characteristics to ease data sparseness. Finally, we used an experiment based on the Epinions website’s dataset to verify our proposed method. The results show that the proposed method can improve the recommendation’s accuracy to some extent, ease a cold start and solve new user problems. Meanwhile, the STUIPMF approach, we propose, also has a good scalability.

Online-to-offline (O2O) commerce is a new e-business model that is popular among consumers and profitable for e-vendors. However, limited studies have been conducted to understand consumer behavior in this context. Based on commitment–trust theory and trust transfer theory, we conducted an exploratory study to explore consumers’ repurchase intention and sharing intention in the O2O commerce context from the relational viewpoint. Two studies were conducted using a web-based survey and Partial Least Squares were used to analyze the data. In Study 1, the results indicated that various targets of trust and commitment have significant effects on repurchase intention and sharing intention. Trust can be transferred both inter-channel and intra-channel in O2O commerce. Moreover, the effect of trust in O2O platforms on commitment is mediated by trust in user community and trust in merchants. To demonstrate the generalizability and external robustness of the results, we replicated the research model in Study 2 using data from a more representative sample. The replicated study produced similar results. This research provides an initial understanding of consumer behavior in the O2O commerce context and contributes to trust transfer theory and commitment–trust theory. Further, this research benefits companies undertaking O2O business by enabling them to better understand how to improve consumer repurchasing intention and sharing intention to succeed in the e-business industry.

Purpose With respect to the multiple-attribute decision-making problem with subjective preference for a certain attribute whose weight-value range have been given over other attributes whose weight values are unknown, a method based on the mean value of the grey number is proposed to analyse the decision-making problem. This method is used to choose a supply-chain partner under the condition that the decision makers have a preference for a certain attribute of various alternatives. The paper aims to discuss these issues. Design/methodology/approach First, the middle value of the preferred attribute’s weight-value range is supposed to be its weight value according to the content of the mean value of the grey number. Second, to reflect the decision maker’s subjective preference information, an improved optimisation model that requests the minimum deviation between the actual and expected numerical value of each attribute is constructed to assess the attributes’ weights. Third, the correlated degree and the correlation matrix, which are determined by the weight values of all attributes, are used to rank all the alternatives. Findings This paper provides a method for making a decision when decision makers have a preference for a certain attribute from an array of various alternatives, and the range of the certain attribute’s weight value is given but the weight value of the other attributes is unknown. When applied to supply-chain partner selection, this method proves feasible and effective. Practical implications This method is feasible and effective when applied to supply-chain partner selection, and can be applied to other kinds of decision-making problems. This means it has significant theoretical importance and extensive practical value. Originality/value Based on the mean value of the grey number, an optimisation model is built to determine the importance degree of each attribute, then the correlated degree of each alternative is combined to rank all the alternatives. This method can suit the decision makers’ subjective preference for a certain attribute well.

Environmental friendliness has been regarded as a fundamental characteristic of sustainability and competitiveness, yet such eco-friendliness is often not performed well. Based on the relationship matrix in the Quality Function Deployment (QFD) method and fuzzy logic, this paper presents an original integrated approach that, by linking competitive bases, green capabilities, and providers, aims at identifying the most appropriate providers to be implemented by companies starting from competitive characteristics. As an illustration, an international electronics-related manufacturing firm’s eco-friendliness developing project is cited which provides evidence of a robust method that can improve the eco-friendliness of an enterprise and enhance competitive advantage. The approach allows for avoiding the risk of misalignments between green providers and competition requirements for practitioners that seek to implement green supply chain management systems.

During the development and production process of large passenger aircraft, there are a large number of suppliers with complex hierarchical relationships and huge amounts of information under asymmetric situation. This paper presents a supplier quality control optimization method under the asymmetric information to ensure the maximum benefit of supplier and the right choice of highly qualified products. The method setup is with the main manufacturer's profit as the target function under certain constraint conditions. A certain type aircraft engine supplier quality control case is used to test the validity of this model. Finally, a quality control measures is put forward to optimize process of the quality control.

In this paper, we analyzed and expressed the micro-blogging from three elements: information, information subject and information environment based on the concepts and theories related to ecology and information ecology. Then we analyzed the dynamic evolutionary process, the driving force and the status of the micro-blogging Big Data ecological system based on self-organization theory. On this basis, we constructed the self-organization evolutionary model of micro-blogging Big Data ecological system. Then we take “the Malaysian flight MH370 vanished” as example to verify the self-organization evolutionary model of micro-blogging topic, and studies have shown that the model is basically in line with the evolution rules of actual micro-blogging topics. Finally, we put forward some suggestions according to the aspects of self-organizing guidance that making micro-blogging Big Data ecological system from disorder to order, in order to provide references for micro-blogging management.
