Ángel Maquieira is a Full Professor of Analytical Chemistry at Universidad Politécnica de Valencia. He received his Ph.D. degree from the University of Valencia, Spain (1980). His research interest topics include the development of immunochemical methods, screening methodologies for organic pollutants, and the study of biosensors and automation. He also studies the development of microarraying protocols operating on compact disc supports and nanobiosensing systems applied in the life sciences area. The newest study topics are related to the use of bioresponsive hydrogels and photonics for biosensing. He has co-authored more than 290 papers published in SCI journals.
