Prof. Thomas Moyo currently works at the University of KwaZulu-Natal, Durban, South Africa. He is an active researcher in the area of magnetic properties of novel nanomaterials and nanocomposites of mixed ferrites, using Mössbauer spectroscopy and vibrating sample magnetometers. He was a recipient of the British Council, Matsumae Foundation, and TWAS fellowships for training and research studies. His research work has involved the synthesis and studies of novel materials over a wide range of sizes (from bulk to nanomaterials) and temperatures in mixed ferrites, rare earth and intermetallic metal-substituted compounds synthesized using wet chemistry, high-energy ball milling, solid-state reaction, and arc melting
methods.
