Teresa Cotes-Palomino is a professor in the Department of Chemical, Environmental and Materials Engineering at the University of Jaén. She is licensed in Chemistry Science from the University of Granada (1989) and completed her doctoral thesis at the University of Jaén in 2008. She has made 54 contributions to national and international congresses in the area of materials and environment and is the author of 10 articles in international journals indexed in JCR, four of them in the first quartile.
She has participated in two research project from the National Plan, in the Feder-Interconecta Project, two Regional Research Projects of Excellence as well as seven R&D contracts with companies. She has supervised two doctoral theses in the past 5 years, one of them in conjunction with the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, and is currently supervising three others. She has participated in the organizing committee of one congress in the field of materials technology. Her research areas include materials engineering, advanced materials, construction materials and waste recovery. Her research work is mainly focused on waste recovery in clay products and the circular economy. She co-authors an internationally published patent with prior examination. Currently, she is part of the European Raw Materials Commitment CRAM: Towards a Raw Materials Strategy for the European Ceramic Industry.
