Problem-solving skills are an ability that must be cultivated to equip students with the skills needed to deal with today’s increasingly complex and volatile environment. Computational thinking represents a new paradigm in problem-solving skills. After Wing proposed Computational Thinking as problem-solving skills in 2006, other scholars investigated this topic; nevertheless, the link between Computational Thinking and problem-solving has not been clearly discussed in previous studies. To uncover evidence for the connection between Computational Thinking and problem-solving skills, we conduct a systematic literature review of 37 papers collected from Web of Science database. The results indicate that (a) problem-solving is discussed in the 37 articles in the context of Computational Thinking, (b) the most frequently employed Computational Thinking stages in problem-solving skills are decomposition, pattern recognition, abstraction, and algorithm, (c) Computational Thinking is closely linked to problem-solving, and (d) Computational Thinking and problem-solving stages serve the same functions in solving problems. The results of this study will encourage the development of education research, particularly in the application of CT as a problem-solving tool in various real-life scenarios.

The availability of a good acceptable learning media is a vital part of the learning process. This paper presents a usability evaluation of the asynchronous serial communication module, which can exhibit the level of acceptance of Data Communication‘s students. The survey was performed based on ten simple statements of the System Usability Scale (SUS) questionnaire. The research‘s findings have been analyzed in three different approaches, i.e., visual “five-pointed star” shape assessment, Bangor et al. model verification, and curved grading scale justification. The analysis showed that the serial communication module is in the acceptable category.

Battery or accumulator is a general electrical energy storage media. The main disadvantage of the battery is the long duration during charging process, short lifetime and less environment friendly. This is one of the obstacles in the development of electric vehicles. Recently, it has been found an electrical energy storage media that uses capacitor technology. The basic principle of capacitors is similar to a battery, which can store electrical charges. The charging process of capacitor is relatively faster than battery, but the discharging process is also very fast. The advantages of capacitor are not using chemical process, cheap maintenance and longer lifetime than battery. Therefore, the researcher developed supercapacitor. The supercapacitor has bigger and larger capacity than common capacitor. This study aims to find out the performance of some types of supercapacitor circuits during the charging and discharging process.

The objective of this study is to build a low voltage three phase 24/41-volt programmable logic controller (PLC) lab. experiment training set for vocational education institution with limited budged. The training set is very cheap, durable and save from electric shock hazard due to no other and no higher voltage used for running it. The 12 I-O PLC unit using ATMEGA 16 processor, programmed by LD micro ladder diagram software on the laptop connected to the PLC module. The loads are: two units three phase motor modified from washing machine motor with specific designed, three phase electronic magnetic contactor, three modified motorcycle bulb lamp and one buzzer. The training set equipped with two version protection; electronic phase failure for the three phase source and electronic fuse destroyer in every unit module. The 24/41 volt three phase source will be blackout one second after one of the 8 ampere three phase fuse become off by overload condition or destroy due to a wrong connection of the individual module from phase to neutral (24 volt) become phase to phase(41volt). The evaluation result from the three internal department of PLC programmer expert and five vocational secondary school (SMK) teachers in Yogyakarta shows that the unit works well as it intended.

There were some limitations in the old version of serial communication learning media. The old module only showed some of data bits instead of full format data bits. There was no a signal graph display on that module as well. By utilizing the graphics LCD on our proposed module, the serial data information could be presented completely. This paper presents the design and development of an asynchronous serial communication module which can be used as a learning media in Data Communication course. To evaluate the serial module, four scenarios of the functional-based test has been performed, i.e. 1) performing basic functions test, 2) receiving data test, 3) sending data test, and 4) visualizing data test. The results showed that the serial communication module could performed all its intended functions correctly.
Low student engagement in online learning is a challenge faced by many educators. The choice of tools used in online learning is also critical in determining whether they support ubiquitous learning for students. One tool that has proven effective in traditional (classroom) learning to increase engagement and problem-solving skills is Problem-Based Learning (PBL) on the Scratch platform. The purpose of this study is to examine whether PBL-Scratch can increase student engagement and perceptions of problem-solving skills in online learn-ing. The study uses a quasi-experimental approach with a simple t-test analysis. The results indicate that PBL-Scratch can increase student engagement and perceived problem-solving skills in online learning, making it a viable tool for ubiquitous learning.
