We make an effort to analyze the behavior of squeeze film characteristics of different finite plates with couple stress fluid in the presence of a transverse magnetic field. On the basis of the Stokes couple stress fluid model and hydromagnetic flow model, a modified Reynold's equation is derived, which is solved by using appropriate boundary conditions to obtain squeeze film pressure, load-carrying capacity, and squeeze film time. The graphical representation of the results suggests that the different bearing systems register an enhanced performance with couple stresses compared to that of a bearing system working with a conventional lubricant in the presence of a transverse magnetic field. It is observed that the effect of applied magnetic field on the squeeze film lubrication between different finite plates with conducting couple stress fluids is to increase the load-carrying capacity significantly and to delay the time of approach compared to the corresponding nonconducting Newtonian case. It is seen that for all of the finite plates of different shapes, the circular shape gives the maximum load and time.
This study explores the influence of an inclined magnetic field and variable viscosity on the entropy generation in steady flow of a couple stress fluid in an inclined channel. The walls of the channel are stationary and non-isothermal. The fluid flow is driven due to pressure gradient and gravitational force. Reynold’s model for temperature-dependent viscosity was used. The dimensionless, non-linear coupled equations of momentum and energy was solved, and we obtained an analytical solution for the velocity and temperature fields. The entropy generation and Bejan number were evaluated. The variation of pertinent parameters on flow quantities was discussed graphically. The rate of volume flow, skin friction coefficient, and Nusselt number at the surfaces of the channel were calculated and their variations were discussed through surface graphs. From the results, it is noticed that the entropy generation rate can be minimized by increasing the magnetic field and the temperature difference parameters. The findings of the current study in some special cases are in precise agreement with the previous investigation.

The study of convective heat transfer in differently shaped fins with radiation, internal heat generation and variable thermal conductivity was considered. The energy equation of the model was converted into the dimensionless form by adopting the proper variables, which was later solved using the differential transformation method. The impact of the parameters on the thermal performance, efficiency and heat transfer of the fins was analyzed graphically and also by performing thermal analysis on the fins. It was noticed that there was a significant effect on the thermal performance of the fins with different shapes, and also the heat transfer rate of the fin increased for improved values of the internal heat generation and radiation parameters. The exponential profile showed better results than other profiles, and the results obtained were supported by thermal analysis using ANSYS software.
