Paula Coutinho is a Biotechnologist with conceptual thinking and a strong background in biological sciences, biochemistry, and biotechnology and their applications. She has a Ph.D. in Biological Sciences (2008) from the University of Santiago de Compostela, Spain. She is a Coordinating Professor at the Polytechnic of Guarda-Health School, in the area of biomedical and bioanalytical sciences. Dr. Coutinho is also a Researcher at CICS-UBI (Center for Research in Health Sciences, University of Beira Interior) and CPIRN-IPG (Centre of Potential and Innovation of Natural Resources—Polytechnic Insitute of Guarda). As a result of research activity, namely considering national and international collaborations, she has co-authored many scientific works, and research projects in microalgae biotechnology and biomaterials.
