Morshed Khandaker is a Professor of Mechanical Engineering at the School of Engineering at the University of Central Oklahoma (UCO), Edmond, Oklahoma. He earned his M.S. and Ph.D. from Texas Tech University, Lubbock, Texas. He is the principal investigator of electrospun nanofiber research at the UCO. His research area is solid mechanics and mechatronics, specifically electrospun nanofiber manufacturing and application technologies for improving the biological performances of implant materials. He has mentored two post-doctoral, 18 graduate, and 150 undergraduate research assistants. He has received several state and university grants to fund student research projects. He is an author of 38 peer-reviewed journal articles and has presented 150 conference articles/abstracts, where mainly undergraduate and graduate students are the co-authors. He is an inventor of eight granted patents. He has collaborated with faculty and clinicians from the UCO and other state universities, local industries, and hospitals. He is a USA Fulbright scholar. He has been awarded several merit awards in the excellence of teaching and research from the UCO due to his outstanding contribution to research and scholarly activities.
