Any thermoset resin’s processing properties and end-use performance are heavily influenced by the gel time. The complicated viscosity of resin as a function of temperature is investigated in this work, with a particular emphasis on identifying the gel point and comprehending polymerization. Rheology studies carried out using a plate-plate controlled stress rheometer under isothermal conditions were used to compare three experimental techniques for figuring out an epoxy resin’s gel point. We also look at the basic modifications that take place during polymerization. We verify the reliability of the three strategies by including Principal Component Analysis (PCA), an unsupervised machine learning methodology. PCA assists in uncovering hidden connections between these methods and various affecting factors. PCA serves a dual role in our study, confirming method validity and identifying patterns. It sheds light on the intricate relationships between experimental techniques and material properties. This concise study expands our understanding of resin behavior and provides insights that are essential for optimizing resin-based processes in a variety of industrial applications.

The use of delivery drones is currently hindered by the inability of transported objects to maintain a steady position, which can result from roll-, pitch-, and heave-induced vibrations. This paper proposes a novel parallel manipulator for stabilizing the platform of unmanned aerial vehicles. The proposed mechanism builds upon an existing study of a 3-SRR/SRU parallel stabilizing mechanism by incorporating the dynamical properties of the system into the control model. The resultant control technique is then applied to both the 3-RRS and 3-SRR mechanisms, and a comparative study is conducted to identify the most reliable stabilizer for regulating the platform’s orientation. The results demonstrate that the 3-SRR mechanism exhibits superior robustness and stability characteristics compared to the other two mechanisms. Additionally, the 3-SRR mechanism is controlled using artificial neural networks, which significantly improves the accuracy and stability of the system. Overall, this research presents a novel and effective solution for stabilizing the platform of unmanned aerial vehicles, with significant implications for the development of delivery drone technology.

This paper presents a classification of 3T1R parallel manipulators (PMs) based on the wrench graph. By using the theory of reciprocal screws, the properties of the three-dimensional projective space, the wrench graph, and the superbracket decomposition of Grassmann–Cayley algebra, six typical wrench graphs for 3T1R parallel manipulators are obtained along with their singularity conditions. Furthermore, this paper shows a way in which each of the obtained typical wrench graphs can be used in order to synthesize new 3T1R parallel manipulator architectures with known singularity conditions and with an understanding of their geometrical properties and assembly conditions.

This study explores the application of machine learning techniques, specifically principal component analysis (PCA), to analyze the influence of silica content on the physical and chemical properties of aerogels. Silica aerogels are renowned for their exceptional properties, including high porosity, large surface area, and low thermal conductivity, but their mechanical brittleness poses significant challenges. The study initially utilized cross-correlation analysis to examine the relationships between key properties such as the Brunauer–Emmett–Teller (BET) surface area, pore volume, density, and thermal conductivity. However, weak correlations prompted the application of PCA to uncover deeper insights into the data. The PCA results demonstrated that silica content has a significant impact on aerogel properties, with the first principal component (PC1) showing a strong positive correlation (R2 = 94%) with silica content. This suggests that higher silica levels correspond to lower thermal conductivity, porosity, and BET surface area, while increasing the density and elastic modulus. Additionally, the analysis identified the critical role of thermal conductivity in the second principal component (PC2), particularly in samples with moderate to high silica content. Overall, this study highlights the effectiveness of machine learning techniques like PCA in optimizing and understanding the complex inter-relationships among the physico-chemical properties of silica aerogels.

This study presents the design and a thorough analysis of a six-bar crank-driven leg mechanism integrated with a skew pantograph, developed for walking robots. The mechanism’s dimensions were optimized using a rigorous dimensional synthesis process in GIM software (version 2024). Subsequently, a detailed kinematic analysis was performed in GIM to simulate the leg’s motion trajectory, velocity, and acceleration. In parallel, kinematic equations were formulated using the vector loop method, implemented in MATLAB (version R2013-b), and compared with the GIM results for validation, demonstrating the strong agreement between both tools. These results confirm the mechanism’s ability to generate a compact, high-lift foot trajectory while maintaining system stability and energy efficiency. An inverse dynamic analysis was carried out to determine the actuator’s driving torque, ensuring efficient operation under expected load conditions. Furthermore, topology optimization conducted in SOLIDWORKS (version 2021) significantly reduced the weight of the ground-contacting link while preserving its structural integrity. A subsequent stress analysis validated the mechanical viability of the optimized design, supporting its feasibility for real-world implementation. This research provides a robust foundation for the development of a functional prototype. Its potential applications include mobile robots for sectors such as agriculture and all-terrain vehicles, where efficient, reliable, and adaptive locomotion is crucial. The proposed mechanism strikes an optimal balance between mechanical simplicity, cost-effectiveness, and high performance, making it well-suited for challenging operational environments.
