The development of renewable energy resources significantly impacts economic growth, various aspects of which can be assessed. First, the sector contributes to job creation, as new technologies and projects require specialists in various fields, from engineering to installation. Second, investments in renewable energy drive economic growth as the private and public sectors increasingly invest in innovation and infrastructure. In addition, developing renewable energy sources can lower energy prices for consumers, increase market competition, and reduce dependence on imported resources. However, there are also challenges related to initial investment costs, technological barriers and required political support. To ensure the successful development of renewable energy sources, it is necessary to create a favorable legal and regulatory environment, as well as to promote education and training in this area. In conclusion, the development of renewable energy resources can become an important driver of economic growth but requires a balanced approach and strategic planning. This work aims to evaluate the impact of the use of renewable resources on the economy after examining theories of economic growth. The following methods are used: analysis of theoretical and practical statements, comparative analysis, and panel data analysis. The research rejects hypotheses which suggest that transitioning to renewable energy sources slows economic growth. The development and adoption of renewable energy resources are essential for reducing greenhouse gas emissions, improving air quality, and ensuring sustainable development in the European Union. Despite initial costs and the hypothesis that transitioning to renewable energy slows economic growth, research shows that renewable energy sources (RES) do not hinder growth in the long term. Instead, they drive economic growth through technological advancements, job creation, and attracting significant investments, ultimately contributing to environmental protection and energy stability.

The adoption of renewable energy sources offers significant economic and sustainability benefits. These sources—solar, wind, hydro, biomass, and geothermal—are crucial for transitioning to a sustainable, low-pollution energy model. Key benefits of renewable energy include job creation, reduced energy costs, decreased reliance on imported resources, minimized environmental impact, and long-term economic stability. Renewable energy also plays a vital role in achieving environmental and sustainability goals. By reducing dependence on imported energy resources, it enhances energy security. Countries investing in renewables lower their reliance on international supply chains and geopolitical risks, which is particularly relevant for European Union nations historically dependent on energy imports. Domestic renewable energy resources help stabilize prices and ensure a consistent long-term energy supply. This study aimed to assess the impact of renewable energy sources on the economy and sustainable development in the European Union. Data for all variables were collected from the Eurostat database. The unbalanced panel data sample consisted of 27 EU countries (N = 27), covering the period 2001–2022 (T = 22). The analysis and generalization of the scientific literature compared theoretical and practical statements, econometric models, and the least squares method. Here, the hypothesis that “the transition to renewable energy sources will have a smaller negative impact on economic growth when the country is more dependent on imported energy sources” was accepted, and this means that using renewable energy sources not only contributes to environmental goals and climate change mitigation but also provides various economic benefits, including job creation, lower energy prices, greater energy security, and long-term sustainability. It is essential in the transition to a cleaner and more sustainable economy.

The Euro-integration vector of Ukraine economic development and business in the open economy zone expands the economic and social potential of domestic enterprises and requires the formation of a reliable information environment to ensure the corporate interests of their investors (in the first) and other users of information (in particular). Today, corporate fraud is the most widespread form of economic crime in Ukraine and the world, which affects about 48% of domestic enterprises. The study attracted substantiated attention to the negative tendency towards the growth of economic crime in Ukraine, which in the end focuses on the fact that domestic business should apply a set of measures to withdraw part of the business from the “shadow economy”. As a result, such measures will help increase the attractiveness of Ukraine’s business investment. The study systematized and analyzed the progressive experience of developed countries, in the first place, the United States, in the fight against economic fraud. The study provides all grounds for asserting that it is quite feasible to achieve the tangible reduction of economic (financial) fraud with preventive measures (which is rather quick and effective). It is proved that the lack of aspirations of the enterprise management to overcome fraud leads to the formation of new money laundering schemes, and not control mechanisms – prevention of opportunities for committing fraud.

Noise pollution from the streets is a critical problem for those living or working near them. Although the traffic noise problem is not a new research topic, it is usually limited to providing average values. This paper aims to determine variations in the instantaneous noise level and its influencing factors using the experimental noise level and theoretical traffic flow using a discrete traffic flow model. The research results suggested that the noise level could be changed by properly managing traffic flow with existing traffic lights without changing the infrastructure. The results of this research may be useful for city transport traffic management institutions.

Innovation based growth and development is a hot topic in all economies of the world. Openness of mind, openness of businesses and openness of innovation are the key characteristics and success factors of the global world today. Growth and development strategies are becoming smarter transforming economy towards creation of higher added-value products, services and more effective use of resources. Such a high-priority aim may be achieved by R&D activities, which raise the innovation growth and, positively influence productivity, thus providing a platform for sustainable growth and development. Productivity is perceived as the ability to properly use the production factors to create value-added, implement innovations and to maintain the country’s competitiveness. In the macroeconomic researches of different scholars (Solow, Saliola, Seker, Kathuria, Puharts etc.) special attention is given to the quantitative measurement of the various factors of growth and development. These researches have shown that one of the more accurate methods of the productivity measurement is a calculation of total factor productivity (TFP). TFP notion is closely related to the innovation concept as proved by many empirical researches. Industry and firm-level studies concluded that R&D investments to a great extent determine TFP growth. The aim of this research is to calculate the total factor productivity by industry both in Latvia and Lithuania for better understanding of economic growth and development perspectives in those countries.

This study aims to develop an original financial intelligence quotient (FIQ) measurement conceptual model, including guidelines for adequately handling personal finances in four developed areas to serve as benchmarks of financial intelligence. Four hypotheses were raised, one of them consists of four parts. Methods used: a questionnaire to determine how well a person’s financial decisions comply with financial behaviour guidelines, Cronbach’s Alpha coefficient to determine the internal consistency of the scales used in the questionnaire, Spearman correlation coefficient to determine the linear dependence between the variables, a linear regression model was developed to substantiate the hypothesis, the MannWhitney-Wilcoxon rank-sum criterion, the KolmogorovSmirnov test to choose the data distribution according to the normal distribution, descriptive statistics, the Kruskal-Wallis test to support the hypothesis. The results show that an individual’s FIQ influences financial decision-making in essential areas of personal finance management and varies due to education but is not dependent on gender and age. Research limitations: The study focuses only on FI and its impact on the economic well-being of Lithuanian students; the study uses oneyear data; data sets for different age groups were not the same size; and the data was not distributed in groups according to the normal distribution. Keyword : financial intelligence, financial intelligence quotient (FIQ), financial literacy, financial well-being, financial behaviour, personal finance
