Metropolitan areas provide many opportunities to spend quality outdoor leisure time as well as to discover many cultural attractions. Sprawl occurs in Romania quite rapidly, encouraged by the construction of ring roads around many cities and their expansion into metropolitan areas. The current paper aims to identify metropolitan tourism models based on which tourist flows can be sustainably reoriented within rural Oradea Metropolitan Area (OMA) given their the tourist potential level (i.e., very low, low, average, high). The tourist potential was scaled based on the Methodology for the Analysis of a Territory’s Tourist Potential, which stands as a law published in the Official Monitor of the 14th of June 2016. The study indicates that most tourist activity develops in the OMA southern part in Sânmartin commune, thus unsustainably capturing all tourist flows of the rural OMA. Natural and man-made tourist attractions’ territorial concentrations were emphasized in the communes from the south and northern OMA, but there are major territorial dysfunctions in terms of technical endowment and tourist infrastructure supply. The three emerged models refer to the medical–recreational and eco–residential wellness network, discovery eco-holiday, and co-visit and marginal community.
The intensification of the urbanization process on a global level is a reality specific to today’s society with some of the most complex implications, among which, the spatial ones stand out. The shortage of space in urban areas has led to the identification of sustainable solutions and ways to manage it. Against this background, the present study aims to explore the relationships between bicycle paths and service delivery units, as well as to establish the role of bicycle paths in facilitating the population’s access to services. The developed methodology involved the use of a multicriteria analysis considering ten criteria: four for bicycle paths and five for service provision units. The results highlighted the existence of strong relationships (between bicycle paths and service units) at the level of bicycle paths 1, 4, 5 and 7, while a major role in facilitating people’s access to services was established at the level of bicycle paths 1, 2, 6 and 7. Thus, the research hypothesis was validated only in the case of four out of seven bicycle paths in the municipality of Oradea, Romania, confirming that where the relationships between bicycle paths and urban service units are strong, the role of bicycle paths in facilitating bicycle access to urban services is high, while where the relationships between bicycle paths and urban service units are weak, the role of bicycle paths in facilitating bicycle access to urban services is low. In conclusion, the results obtained demonstrate the need to expand and modernize bike lanes 1, 2, 6 and 7, which have demonstrated the greatest potential to facilitate access to urban services.
The joint German - Hungarian - Polish - Romanian Project EUBILD-UNAKLIM 2016-1-DE02-KA204-003254 in the ERASMUS + Scheme KA2 (Strategic Partnerships) designs an international adult-learning furthering education course. It took place in the participating countries Germany, Hungary, Poland and Romania. Environmental and cross-sector topics were addressed. A “green” job search and a questionnaire among employers, financing and educational institutions and NGOs was performed across the partner countries in 2017. The objectives were to find differences in employers’ opinions on staff skills and the training topics provided by the furthering education organizations. In case differences were found, the course could close these gaps and will be adapted to the employers’ needs, bringing more course participants into employment. Statistical evaluation compared countries, institution types, employers and furthering educationand financing institutions. The results were visualized in pie charts, histograms, and - where applicable - trend lines. Preliminary results show clear ranking of the new “green” job categories with differences in countries and institutions. The questionnaire results show differences in topic selection between employers and furthering education bodies. The results form the base for the course curriculum design closing the gaps between employers’ expectations for “green” job topics and existing training curricula.

The present study captures the pressure exerted by the population on the Apuseni Natural Park (ANP), from the perspective of the significant role of the human component in the conservation and development of these fragile areas from a natural and human point of view. The proposed study is focused both on the quantitative characteristics (general density, physiological density, pasture load) and on the quantitative ones (naturality index, human pressure through forestry), analyzed at the level of the ANP. The analysis of these indicators highlights the fact that, from the point of view of the human pressures exerted at the level of the ANP, it is not a strong one, and moreover it can jeopardize the optimal use of the potential of the ANP.
A nation's vitality, dynamism and economic strength will always be related to its demographic component, and a healthy and vigorous population will ensure its long-term future. However, the current realities demonstrate the existence of an obvious population decrement at the level of the entire country particularly triggered by the birth rate decrease and the high demographic aging to which other factors add ap specific to local communities, which in their turn determined a particular type of demographic behaviour. Therefore we aim to analyze those elements with a major population dynamics impact such as family stability and demographic potential that can generate a specific demographic behaviour, as a result of the major changes that have occurred in the last period of time. These elements are translated through several demographic indicators that characterize the family, such as the nuptiality index and the divorce index whose evolution was registered and analyzed for the period 1992-2021. Their evolution indicates the demographic potential of Romania, as well as of Bihor county.
