George-Claudiu Zărnescu was born in Bucharest, Romania, on July 8, 1980. He graduated from the Politehnica University of Bucharest in 2003, obtaining a degree of engineer in Electrical Engineering. He subsequently completed a master's degree program in advanced electrical drive systems and, in 2011, obtained a doctorate in Electrical Engineering from the same university. He subsequently completed a master's degree program in advanced electrical drive systems and, in 2011, obtained a doctorate in science from the same university. His professional experience includes activity at the 3NanoSAE Research Center, Măgurele, within the Faculty of Physics, as well as at the National Institute for Research and Development in Electrical Engineering ICPE-CA in Bucharest, in the Sensors, Actuators and Energy Harvesting Laboratory. Within ICPE-CA, he currently holds the position of a third-degree scientific researcher. His research interests cover a wider range of fields, including piezoelectric, thermoelectric, and electromagnetic structures, electromagnetic field calculation, energy harvesting from vibrations and heat using piezoelectric and thermoelectric elements, wireless energy transfer through inductive and capacitive coupling, RF plasma generators, Tesla coils, electromagnetic compatibility, rectifying antennas, electronic devices, electronic sources for linear or rotary actuators, and signal-conditioning modules for sensors and microcontroller programming.
