Chatbots are AI-powered programs designed to replicate human conversation. They are capable of performing a wide range of tasks, including answering questions, offering directions, controlling smart home thermostats, and playing music, among other functions. ChatGPT is a popular AI-based chatbot that generates meaningful responses to queries, aiding people in learning. While some individuals support ChatGPT, others view it as a disruptive tool in the field of education. Discussions about this tool can be found across different social media platforms. Analyzing the sentiment of such social media data, which comprises people’s opinions, is crucial for assessing public sentiment regarding the success and shortcomings of such tools. This study performs a sentiment analysis and topic modeling on ChatGPT-based tweets. ChatGPT-based tweets are the author’s extracted tweets from Twitter using ChatGPT hashtags, where users share their reviews and opinions about ChatGPT, providing a reference to the thoughts expressed by users in their tweets. The Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA) approach is employed to identify the most frequently discussed topics in relation to ChatGPT tweets. For the sentiment analysis, a deep transformer-based Bidirectional Encoder Representations from Transformers (BERT) model with three dense layers of neural networks is proposed. Additionally, machine and deep learning models with fine-tuned parameters are utilized for a comparative analysis. Experimental results demonstrate the superior performance of the proposed BERT model, achieving an accuracy of 96.49%.

Nearly six billion people globally use smartphones, and reviews about smartphones provide useful feedback concerning important functions, unique characteristics, etc. Social media platforms like Twitter contain a large number of such reviews containing feedback from customers. Conventional methods of analyzing consumer feedback such as business surveys or questionnaires and focus groups demand a tremendous amount of time and resources, however, Twitter’s reviews are unstructured and manual analysis is laborious and time-consuming. Machine learning and deep learning approaches have been applied for sentiment analysis, but classification accuracy is low. This study utilizes a transformer-based BERT model with the appropriate preprocessing pipeline to obtain higher classification accuracy. Tweets extracted using Tweepy SNS scrapper are used for experiments, while fine-tuned machine and deep learning models are also employed. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed approach can obtain a 99% classification accuracy for three sentiments.

The complex nature of climate change with multitude of underlying factors poses a major hindrance in data analysis and decision making by policy makers. Here, we utilize data analytic techniques to identify the best set of climate change indicator variables that could predict precipitation and temperature data for India. The observed values of important climatic parameters namely, rain, maximum temperature, minimum temperature, and mean temperature in India were analyzed along with the observed values of selected socio-environmental indicators featured by WHO for climate change as exogenous variables for a period of 61 years. Data were pre-processed to identify ten exogenous indicators which were then modelled using Vector Error Correction Model (VECM). 1024 VECM models were built and evaluated for the prediction of the four endogenous variables using all possible combinations of the selected indicators. Seven exogenous variables were determined as the best set of indicators based on the AIC of the different models. The model built using the identified variables was compared to others to illustrate the probable impact of this combination of variables. The study thus demonstrates a simple but rational data-driven approach for use in decision making.
