The present analysis concentrates on the boundary layer flow of Maxwell fluid over a stretching sheet with variable thickness. Cattaneo-Christov heat flux model is used instead of classical Fourier’s law to explore the heat transfer characteristics with variable thermal conductivity. Suitable transformations are employed to achieve the nonlinear ordinary differential equations. Convergent series solutions of the momentum and energy equations are obtained. Behavior of various pertinent parameters on the velocity and temperature distributions are analyzed and discussed.
This work concentrates on the mathematical modeling for stagnation point flow of nanofluids over an impermeable stretching sheet with variable thickness. Carbon nanotubes [single-wall carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) and multi-wall carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs)] as the nanoparticles are utilized. Water and kerosene oil are taken as the base fluids. Heat transfer through melting effect is discussed. Transformation procedure is adapted to obtain the non-linear ordinary differential equations from the fundamental laws of mass, linear momentum and energy. The optimal values of convergence control parameters and corresponding individual and total residual errors for SWCNTs and MWCNTs are computed by means of homotopy analysis method (HAM) based BVPh 2.0. Characteristics of different involved parameters on the velocity, temperature, skin friction coefficient and Nusselt number are discussed. Higher velocity profile is observed for wall thickness parameter in case of water carbon nanotubes when compared with the kerosene oil carbon nanotubes.

This paper is devoted to examine the thermally stratified mixed convection flow of an Oldroyd-B fluid. The stagnation point flow towards a stretching surface is discussed. The boundary layer flow and energy equations are employed. Resulting partial differential systems are converted into the ordinary differential systems. Convergent series solutions for velocity and temperature are developed and analyzed. Numerical values of Nusselt number is computed and examined. Comparison of present study is shown with the previous results. It is found that velocity decreases through the stratified effects.
The combined effects of Joule and Newtonian heating in magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) flow of Jeffrey fluid over a stretching cylinder with heat source/sink are addressed. Suitable transformations are considered to reduce the non-linear boundary layer partial differential equations into the ordinary differential equations. Convergent series solutions of the resulting dimensionless problems are obtained. Effects of emerging physical parameters on the velocity and temperature profiles are examined. Comparison between viscous and Jeffrey fluids for different cases of flat plate and cylinder is made. Numerical values of skin friction coefficient and local Nusselt number are tabulated and analyzed for different values of emerging parameters.
Flow of viscoelastic fluid due to an impermeable stretching cylinder is discussed. Effects of mixed convection and variable thermal conductivity are present. Thermal conductivity is taken temperature dependent. Nonlinear partial differential system is reduced into the nonlinear ordinary differential system. Resulting nonlinear system is computed for the convergent series solutions. Numerical values of skin friction coefficient and Nusselt number are computed and discussed. The results obtained with the current method are in agreement with previous studies using other methods as well as theoretical ideas. Physical interpretation reflecting the contribution of influential parameters in the present flow is presented. It is hoped that present study serves as a stimulus for modeling further stretching flows especially in polymeric and paper production processes.
