The research study was conducted to design the ultrasonic-assisted electrochemical reactor and the bioreactor/filter to evaluate the potential applicability of biological trickling filter system and to compare the efficiency of two reactors such as SER and TF for the treatment of textile industry effluents. Also the study to design Sonoelectrolytic process for wastewater treatment of textile industry containing strong color, high temperature, suspended particles and dissolved solid particles has been conducted. Effect to environment and health is caused by oxygen demand (BOD), high chemical oxygen demand (COD). The percentage removal efficiency for wastewater treatment of textile industry by using sonoelectrolytic reactor (SER) was found to be higher than 95% at temperature of 25°C and a pH value of 8.9, while for trickling filter (TF), having adsorbent as a filter medium, efficiency was found to be 95%, and optimum conditions obtained were applied for the treatment of different dye samples. Based on experimental outcomes, it is determined that treatment through SER is done faster than trickling filter because in TF the adsorbent capacity decreases with time and is a time-consuming process, but the chance of deposition on electrodes also increases in SER, so both these processes can yield better results if these problems are eliminated.
Textile industry being the backbone of any country plays a very essential part in the development of the country. The treatment of chemical dyes present in textile wastewater and its reuse for irrigational purposes has become a major concern for the researchers. The present study emphasis on proper degradation of commonly used reactive blue (RB) 19 dye present in textile effluents using ultrasound assisted electrochemical reactor technique and presenting the analysis of microparticles present in dyes and its quantitative composition before and after treatment by means of scanning electron microscopy (SEM) images at high magnification. The investigation was carried out using various parameters such as Concentration, pH and reaction rate. The testing setup also includes UV absorbance spectrophotometer, ultrasonic bath, DC power supply, weighing balance, suction apparatus, and thermometer. Our studies show that the Optimum dye degradation (i.e. 82.3 %) was achieved at time 120 minutes with pH of 3.22 for 50 ppm of solution and the maximum degradation (i.e. 85%) was achieved at 40 0C using acid (HCl) and Base (NaOH) in equal amounts after 120 minutes for solution of 30ppm. The work efficiency includes saving time, money and degrading the dyes from wastewater before toxic sludge formation.

Lack of proper wastewater management infrastructure is an alarming threat to the ground water quality, especially in developing countries. The objective of this study was to investigate the transport of coliform bacteria and other pollutants through soil to ground water in Taxila (Pakistan), near the unpaved sewage drain. An experimental setup was installed with five circular columns of variable depths of 0.3, 0.3, 0.9, 1.2, and 1.8 m clayey soil, taken near from drain, filled and compacted thoroughly in the columns. The sewage was poured into experimental setup from top and treated effluent was collected from the bottom. Sewerage before and after treatment were examined regularly. The Biological oxygen demand (BOD)5, Chemical oxygen demand (COD), Total suspended solids (TSS) and Total dissolved Solids (TDS), and coliform bacteria were monitored in the influent and effluent. Samples from the bores near the drain were also taken and analyzed. Coliform bacteria removal efficiency was 98.25%, in 1.8 m depth column, after 15th day of start. Similarly, BOD5, COD, and TSS maximum removal efficiencies achieved at 1.8 m depth were 90, 80, and 100%, respectively. Coliform bacteria were detected from the ground water near the sewage drain. A significant concentration of coliform bacteria was detected, even at the depth of 45 m, from the bores.
A series of Mn-doped CeO2-CuO catalyst (CeO2-MnOx-CuO) (Ce/Mn molar ratio of 0.5, 1.0 2.0 and 3.0) were prepared using co-precipitation method for the selective oxidation of CO in automobile engine exhaust. The content of copper was 5.0 wt. % in each sample. Catalysts were installed on the...
