Professor Motaung Tshwafo is currently working at the University South Africa and Sefako Makgatho Health Science University, Chemistry Department, as a Research Associate. His research philosophy is “to convert scientific and indigenous knowledge into powerful innovation that is capable to influence the economy”. He has more than 30 conference papers and has published more than 80 articles, 40 book chapters, a book, and a few prototypes. He is also actively involved in student supervision and has graduated more than 20 postgraduate students, including Honors, Masters, and Doctorates. He has vast experience in the areas of organic polymer chemistry, nanocomposites, and entrepreneurship for scientists. He has developed many prototypes including a bio-brick, which has attracted attention throughout the continent. He is a staunch supporter of an innovation which seeks to bring small business enterprises to life. None of his projects are outside national development plans and general national key questions. He is a coordinator of the massive national collaboration symposium, established in 2014, that seeks to encourage Africans to be at the forefront of education for a fair decolonization and access to the mainstream economy.
