Prof. Santina Bruzzone is a full professor of Biochemistry at the Department of Experimental Medicine (DIMES)-Section of Biochemistry, University of Genova (Italy). She obtained her PhD in Biotechnology from the University of Milano (Italy) in 2000, and she was a post-doc at the Department of Pharmacology, University of Minnesota (Minneapolis, MN; Prof. H.C. Lee’s lab). She worked for 3 years as a postdoctoral researcher at the DIMES, in the Section of Biochemistry, before obtaining a permanent position as an assistant, associate, and, recently, full professor in the same department. Her scientific interests are mainly related to NAD biology, signal transduction, and metabolism (NAD biosynthesis, NAD-converting enzymes, and NAD-derived second messengers).
