Tailing cement filling is an important development direction in mine filling, as it is a green and environmentally friendly method for efficiently treating solid waste in mines. Adding a certain amount of waste rock can effectively improve the backfill strength and better meet the filling strength requirements. To address the use of waste rock tailings in cemented filling materials, a uniaxial compression test was carried out on backfills with different cement/sand ratios and waste rock contents, and the influence of the cement/sand ratio and waste rock content on the strength of the backfill was studied. This study found that when the waste rock content is certain, the strength of the backfill increases with the increase in the cement/sand ratio, and the increase in strength slows with the increase in the cement/sand ratio until the strength of the backfill reaches a limit and no longer increases. When the cement/sand ratio is constant, the strength of the backfill first increases and then decreases as the waste rock content increases. When the cement content is constant, the addition of a certain amount of waste rock reduces the specific surface area of the solid materials in the backfill, increases the amount of cement per unit area, and improves the strength of the backfill. When the waste rock content is too high, due to the large particle size of the waste rock, the tailings cannot completely wrap around the waste rock, resulting in a weakening of the cement in the backfill, which reduces the strength of the backfill. This study found that the waste rock content and the cement/sand ratio in the backfill have a significant impact on backfill damage. The damage is mainly caused by insufficient cement strength. The presence of waste rock will change the original direction of crack propagation, resulting in more crack bifurcation, and the form of the destruction surface on the backfill is complicated and diverse.

In order to consider the influence of mesoscopic characteristics of materials on the constitutive model of cemented paste backfill (CPB), the uniaxial compression variables and the damage constitutive model, considering the influence of porosity and pore size of filling materials, were derived based on the strain equivalence principle and Weibull probability distribution function. The nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) tests and unconfined compression strength (UCS) tests were carried out on 8 groups of CPB specimens with different slurry concentrations and cement‐tailings ratios. Then, the expression of damage strengthening coefficient is determined, and the stress‐strain curves measured by the theoretical model were compared with the experimental ones. The results show that the uniaxial compression constitutive model proposed is in good agreement with UCS test results and can effectively describe the damage evolution law and the development process of stress‐strain curve of CPB under uniaxial compression. The 28‐day compressive strength of CPB can reach 8 MPa, the residual strength is about 1∼2 MPa, the elastic modulus is about 200∼2000 MPa, and the porosity is about 3∼5%. The CPB with slurry concentration of 74% and 76% and cement‐tailings ratio of 1 : 4 and 1 : 6 is more reasonable, and the relevant mechanical parameters are more stable.

Taking the specific production geological conditions of the auxiliary transportation lane in the west area of Gaojiabao coal mine of Shaanxi Zhengtong Coal Industry as the research background, based on the anchorage support theory and the characteristics of the TBM digging process, numerical simulation, theoretical analysis, and other research methods were used to investigate the depth of the destruction of the plastic zone of the surrounding rock of the roadway to form the reasonable support parameters of a large cross-section of hard rock roadway suitable for TBM digging and to propose an intelligent digging and support process of the TBM corresponding to the on-site practice. The proposed intelligent tunneling support technology corresponds to a field practice of TBM. The study shows that: combined with the field industrial test and adjusted by the peripheral rock deformation and damage law, the anchor diameter of 20 mm, the length of 2500 mm left-hand threaded steel anchors, row spacing of 1100 mm, spacing of 1200 mm, and the anchor diameter of Φ21.8 mm, the length of 6200 mm left-handed threaded steel anchors, row spacing of 1100 mm, spacing of 1200 mm are the most reasonable solutions, which can ensure the control of the tunnel peripheral rock. The program is the most economically efficient in ensuring the control of deformation of the roadway perimeter rock and maintaining normal use.

In order to establish storages in mining goaf, calcium bentonite (Ca-B), slag powder (SP) and silica fume (SF) were added into the backfill to obtain a cemented backfill with high stability and certain anti-seepage function. Uniaxial compressive strength (UCS), porosity, permeability and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) tests were carried out. Results show that SP and SF can significantly improve the strength at the same level of incorporation, the highest increases are 229.01% and 131.30% compared with the control group, while Ca-B has strong swelling and low pozzolanic activity, the strength can only be increased by 28.80%, and the strength will be decreased if the amount of Ca-B is too high. The incorporation of mineral admixtures can increase the number of closed pores in the compaction stage, and the damage mode of backfill will change with the increase of the incorporation amount. There is a first-order power function between permeability and porosity, permeability increases with porosity. The strong pozzolanic reaction of SP and SF can produce more gel compounds to block pore channels and reduce permeability. Compared with the control group, the permeability can be reduced by 40.06% and 23.56% at the highest, while Ca-B due to strong swelling, low activity, and insufficient reaction cause the backfill porous, and the permeability is greater than the control group under different incorporation amounts.
