Sandipan Halder received his Ph.D. from the department of Chemistry of the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur in 2012. He was working under the supervision of Professor Manas K. Ghorai. In his first post-doctoral research, he worked at Bar Ilan University, Ramat Gan, Israel under the supervision of Professor Shmaryahu Hoz, in the field of Physical Organic Chemistry. After that, he was awarded a prestigious Indo-USA Fulbright Nehru post-doctoral fellowship from the United States India Educational Foundation (USIEF) to pursue his second post-doctoral research under the supervision of Professor T. V. RajanBabu in the department of Chemistry & Biochemistry at The Ohio State University, Columbus, Ohio, USA. After returning from the USA, he joined the department of Chemistry, National Institute of Technology (NIT), Jamshedpur, India for a short period of time. Later on he moved to the Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology (VNIT), Nagpur as an Assistant Professor in 2016. He is serving in the same institute at present. Dr. Halder’s research group is involved in developing organo-catalytic methods for the development of single pot domino type reactions stereoselective synthesis of heterocyclic ring systems with medicinal properties.
