This article describes a modified structure 9-level inverter (MS9LI) with a dual dc link and eight switches. The dual dc links are different dc voltage sources with a 1:3 ratio. To generate high-quality nine-level output, the alternative phase opposition and disposition pulsewidth modulation (APODPWM) technique has been used. Most reported reduced device multilevel inverters (MLIs) include several underutilized dc sources and much more active switches. The designed MS9LI is more efficient since it uses fewer conducting switches. The proposed configuration furthermore does not need a backend H-bridge, and voltage stress is not more than the input dc voltage. A series connection of the proposed configuration can also be used to extend the topology. To prove the superior performance of the proposed MS9LI configuration, a detailed comparison with the foremost configurations in terms of the essential number of sources, switches, and drivers is made. In order to confirm the viability and functionality of the MS9LI configuration, various simulation and experimental findings are presented.

Introduction. The major source of energy for a long time has been fossil fuels, however this has its drawbacks because of their scarcity, exhaustibility, and impossibility of reusing them. Presently, a shunt active harmonic filter-equipped two-stage solar photovoltaic system is showing off its performance shunt active harmonic filter. The global power system has been impacted by current harmonics during the most modern industrial revolution. Novelty. The proposed work is innovative, by adopting the hysteresis modulation mode with Z-source inverter to enhance the performance of the system. Furthermore, the shunt active harmonic filter also get assists in this system for better improvement in the quality of power. Purpose. By incorporating an impedance source inverter and a photovoltaic shunt active harmonic filter methods, harmonic issues are mitigated. Methods. Load compensation is one of the services that the shunt active harmonic filter offers, in addition to harmonic compensation, power factor correction, and many other functions. The current pulse width modulation voltage source inverter method is more expensive, requires two converters owing to its two-stage conversion, has significant switching losses, and has a low rate of the reaction. The new model, in which the voltage source inverter is substituted out for a Z-source inverter converter, has been developed in order to address the problems of the existing system. Results. Rather than using a hybrid of DC-DC and DC-AC converters, the suggested system uses a shunt active harmonic filter that is powered by a photovoltaic source using a Z-source inverter. Utilizing Z-source inverter helps to address the present issues with conventional configurations. Practical value. By using software MATLAB/Simulink, this photovoltaic shunt active harmonic filter technique is analyzed. Shunt active harmonic filter, which produces compensatory current from the reference current obtained as from main supply, is powered by the photovoltaic array.

The switched reluctance motor (SRM) has more salient features such as high starting torque, isolation of phase windings, and no rotor windings. Similarly, a permanent magnet brushless direct current (BLDC) motor possesses numerous merits such as high power density, and low torque ripple. However, this SRM and permanent magnet BLDC motor suffer from torque ripple and cogging torque, respectively. Therefore, this research article enriches the design procedure and characteristics of a 3-kW, 60-V hybrid reluctance motor with minimum torque ripple and vibration. Furthermore, this proposed motor is modeled and analyzed with various laminating core materials such as 47F165, Arnon 7, M420-50D, M300-35A, 36F155, and M-27 24Ga for identifying the superior material by considering the relevant parameters such as losses and torque. In the proposed doubly salient motor, a vibration analysis is also performed to predict its natural frequency. A laboratory arrangement is implemented to examine the proposed motor at no-load conditions. Then no-load current and vibration frequency were measured by a digital storage oscilloscope and accelerometer, respectively. These experimental outcomes are compared with finite-element analysis and analytical equations to validate findings.

The main purpose of this research is to investigate finite-element analysis (FEA) on flux reversal-free stator switched reluctance motor (FRFSSRM) for industrial applications. The vibration analysis for an electrical machine is essential because of the acoustic noises. The acoustic noises originate by coincidence of natural frequencies of motor with the vibration frequencies. The identification with the performance for FRFSRM by torque ripple, vibration. The vibration of the machine is because of unbalanced electromagnetic forces. The mutual coupled winding and a common pole between two adjacent exciting poles reduce these unbalanced forces. The accelerometer is used to monitor the vibration amplitude in transient mode. A comparison study shows that the vibration is less in the E-core SRM than in the conventional flux reversal SRM. The shorter flux path reduces the torque ripple and vibration content in SRM. This research article mainly focuses on the parameters such as vibration and torque ripple. The vibration of FRFSRM is identified by accelerometer; ANSYS Package predicts the simulation of the vibration measurement. The dynamic behaviors of this E-core SRM model with rated conditions the vibration had predicted.

The switched reluctance motor (SRM) has gained significant attention in the industry due to its advantageous features, such as a durable rotor, simple stator windings, and ease of manufacturing. The main focus of SRM development has been enhancing efficiency while reducing torque ripple and losses. Given that this study aims to apply the proposed SRM design in electric vehicles, it is crucial to achieve a motor that is free from torque ripple and exhibits high efficiency. This research proposes a novel type of SRM called the outer rotor permanent magnet SRM (ORPMSRM) specifically for lightweight electric vehicles. Structural modifications are introduced in the ORPMSRM design to improve the torque characteristics and minimize losses. The electromagnetic analysis is conducted to predict the performance of the ORPMSRM with these modified structures. This article offers a comprehensive investigation that considers various configurations of rotor poles and stator poles with permanent magnets (PMs) to enhance the performance of the ORPMSRM. The finite element analysis (FEA) results are compared with experimental results, providing valuable insights into the motor’s performance and validating the analytical predictions.
