Skin is the largest organ in the human body and requires proper dressing to facilitate healing after an injury. Wounds on movable parts, such as the elbow, knee, wrist, and neck, usually undergo delayed and inefficient healing due to frequent movements. To better accommodate movable wounds, a variety of functional hydrogels have been successfully developed and used as flexible wound dressings. On the one hand, the mechanical properties, such as adhesion, stretchability, and self-healing, make these hydrogels suitable for mobile wounds and promote the healing process; on the other hand, the bioactivities, such as antibacterial and antioxidant performance, could further accelerate the wound healing process. In this review, we focus on the recent advances in hydrogel-based movable wound dressings and propose the challenges and perspectives of such dressings.

Background: Brain–computer interface (BCI) technology opens up new avenues for human–machine interaction and rehabilitation by connecting the brain to machines. Electroencephalography (EEG)-based motor imagery (MI) classification is a key component of BCI technology, which is capable of translating neural activity in the brain into commands for controlling external devices. Despite the great potential of BCI technology, the challenges of extracting and decoding brain signals limit its wide application. Methods: To address this challenge, this study proposes a novel hybrid deep learning model, CLTNet, which focuses on solving the feature extraction problem to improve the classification of MI-EEG signals. In the preliminary feature extraction stage, CLTNet uses a convolutional neural network (CNN) to extract time series, channel, and spatial features of EEG signals to obtain important local information. In the deep feature extraction stage, the model combines the long short-term memory (LSTM) network and the Transformer module to capture time-series data and global dependencies in the EEG. The LSTM explains the dynamics of the brain activity, while the Transformer’s self-attention mechanism reveals the global features of the time series. Ultimately, the CLTNet model classifies motor imagery EEG signals through a fully connected layer. Results: The model achieved an average accuracy of 83.02% and a Kappa value of 0.77 on the BCI IV 2a dataset, and 87.11% and a Kappa value of 0.74 on the BCI IV 2b dataset, both of which outperformed the traditional methods. Conclusions: The innovation of the CLTNet model is that it integrates multiple network architectures, which offers a more comprehensive understanding of the characteristics of the EEG signals during motor imagery, providing a more comprehensive perspective and establishing a new benchmark for future research in this area.

Stroke represents a medical emergency and can lead to the development of movement disorders such as abnormal muscle tone, limited range of motion, or abnormalities in coordination and balance. In order to help stroke patients recover as soon as possible, rehabilitation training methods employ various movement modes such as ordinary movements and joint reactions to induce active reactions in the limbs and gradually restore normal functions. Rehabilitation effect evaluation can help physicians understand the rehabilitation needs of different patients, determine effective treatment methods and strategies, and improve treatment efficiency. In order to achieve real-time and accuracy of action detection, this article uses Mediapipe’s action detection algorithm and proposes a model based on MPL-CNN. Mediapipe can be used to identify key point features of the patient’s upper limbs and simultaneously identify key point features of the hand. In order to detect the effect of rehabilitation training for upper limb movement disorders, LSTM and CNN are combined to form a new LSTM-CNN model, which is used to identify the action features of upper limb rehabilitation training extracted by Medipipe. The MPL-CNN model can effectively identify the accuracy of rehabilitation movements during upper limb rehabilitation training for stroke patients. In order to ensure the scientific validity and unified standards of rehabilitation training movements, this article employs the postures in the Fugl-Meyer Upper Limb Rehabilitation Training Functional Assessment Form (FMA) and establishes an FMA upper limb rehabilitation data set for experimental verification. Experimental results show that in each stage of the Fugl-Meyer upper limb rehabilitation training evaluation effect detection, the MPL-CNN-based method’s recognition accuracy of upper limb rehabilitation training actions reached 95%. At the same time, the average accuracy rate of various upper limb rehabilitation training actions reaches 97.54%. This shows that the model is highly robust across different action categories and proves that the MPL-CNN model is an effective and feasible solution. This method based on MPL-CNN can provide a high-precision detection method for the evaluation of rehabilitation effects of upper limb movement disorders after stroke, helping clinicians in evaluating the patient’s rehabilitation progress and adjusting the rehabilitation plan based on the evaluation results. This will help improve the personalization and precision of rehabilitation treatment and promote patient recovery.

Traditional respiratory rehabilitation training fails to achieve visualization and quantification of respiratory data in improving problems such as decreased lung function and dyspnea in people with respiratory disorders, and the respiratory rehabilitation training process is simple and boring. Therefore, this article designs a biofeedback respiratory rehabilitation training system based on virtual reality technology. It collects respiratory data through a respiratory sensor and preprocesses it. At the same time, it combines the biofeedback respiratory rehabilitation training virtual scene to realize the interaction between respiratory data and virtual scenes. This drives changes in the virtual scene, and finally the respiratory data are fed back to the patient in a visual form to evaluate the improvement of the patient’s lung function. This paper conducted an experiment with 10 participants to evaluate the system from two aspects: training effectiveness and user experience. The results show that this system has significantly improved the patient’s lung function. Compared with traditional training methods, the respiratory data are quantified and visualized, the rehabilitation training effect is better, and the training process is more active and interesting.

The Graphical User Interface (GUI) plays a critical role in the interaction between users and mobile applications (apps), aiming at facilitating the operation process. However, due to the variety of functions and non-standardized design, GUIs might have many accessibility issues, like the size of components being too small or their intervals being narrow. These issues would hinder the operation of low vision users, preventing them from obtaining information accurately and conveniently. Although several technologies and methods have been proposed to address these issues, they are typically confined to issue identification, leaving the resolution in the hands of developers. Moreover, it can be challenging to ensure that the color, size, and interval of the fixed GUIs are appropriately compared to the original ones. In this work, we propose a novel approach named AccessFixer ( Access ibility Issues Fix ing Method), which utilizes the Relational-Graph Convolutional Neural Network (R-GCN) to simultaneously fix three kinds of accessibility issues, including small sizes, narrow intervals, and low color contrast in GUIs. With AccessFixer, the fixed GUIs would have a consistent color palette, uniform intervals, and adequate size changes achieved through coordinated adjustments to the attributes of related components. Our experiments demonstrate the effectiveness and usefulness of AccessFixer in fixing GUI accessibility issues. After fixing 30 real-world apps, our approach solves an average of 81.2% of their accessibility issues. Compared with the baseline tool that can only fix size-related issues, AccessFixer not only fixes both the interval and color contrast of components, but also ensures that no new issues arise in the fixed results. Also, we apply AccessFixer to 10 open-source apps by submitting the fixed results with pull requests (PRs) on GitHub. The results demonstrate that developers approve of our submitted fixed GUIs, with 8 PRs being merged or under fixing. A user study examines that low vision users host a positive attitude toward the GUIs fixed by our method.

With the widespread popularity of online social media, people have come to increasingly rely on it as an information and news source. However, the growing spread of fake news on the Internet has become a serious threat to cyberspace and society at large. Although a series of previous works have proposed various methods for the detection of fake news, most of these methods focus on single-domain fake-news detection, resulting in poor detection performance when considering real-world fake news with diverse news topics. Furthermore, any news content may belong to multiple domains. Therefore, detecting multi-domain fake news remains a challenging problem. In this study, we propose a multi-domain fake-news detection framework based on a mixture-of-experts model. The input text is fed to BertTokenizer and embeddings are obtained by jointly calling CLIP to obtain the fusion features. This avoids the introduction of noise and redundant features during feature fusion. We also propose a collaboration module, in which a sentiment module is used to analyze the inherent sentimental information of the text, and sentence-level and domain embeddings are used to form the collaboration module. This module can adaptively determine the weights of the expert models. Finally, the mixture-of-experts model, composed of TextCNN, is used to learn the features and construct a high-performance fake-news detection model. We conduct extensive experiments on the Weibo21 dataset, the results of which indicate that our multi-domain methods perform well, in comparison with baseline methods, on the Weibo21 dataset. Our proposed framework presents greatly improved multi-domain fake-news detection performance.
