Dr. Maohua Xiao is currently a professor in mechanical engineering at the College of Engineering, Nanjing Agricultural University. He received his Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Manufacturing and Automation from the Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics in 2010. In December 2010, he joined Nanjing Agricultural University. He has presided over more than 10 National Natural Science Foundation projects, national key R&D program projects, and national major agricultural key core technology research projects; published nearly 70 papers included in SCI/EI; and obtained 11 authorized invention patents and more than 30 software copyrights, of which two patents have been successfully transformed and applied. He has won five provincial and ministerial awards, including the first prize of the National Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, and Fisheries Harvest Award and the first prize of the China Agricultural Machinery Science and Technology Award. He participated in the research and development of the country’s first multi-link high-speed ultra-precision press and the country's first high-power tractor hydraulic mechanical continuously variable transmission. The five products he developed were rated as Jiangsu Province’s “first major equipment product." He is mainly engaged in research on new power technology and precision operation equipment for agricultural machinery, the intelligent control of agricultural machinery equipment, and unmanned systems.
