Shyan-Ming Yuan received a PhD degree in computer science from the University of Maryland at College Park in 1989. In 1990, he was an Associate Professor with the Department of Computer Science at the National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University, Hsinchu, Taiwan. Since 1995, he has been a Professor in the Department of Computer Science, National Chiao Tung University, where he is also the Director of the Library. His current research interests include distance learning, Internet technologies, distributed computing, cloud computing, and blockchain technology.
