Language is a primary means of communication, but it is not the only means; knowing a language does, however, assist speed up the process. Many distinct languages are spoken worldwide, and people use them to communicate. This is only one of the many reasons why language is so crucial. Based on the literature survey, it is evident that there is a lack of available translators for the Tulu language. Despite being prevalent predominantly in Karnataka, the Tulu language has not been as widely spoken as other Indian languages until recently, although it gained enough recognition to become the second language in Karnataka. The purpose of our research work aims at translating the English language into the Tulu language. During the evaluation the system was tested on a dataset consisting of handwritten characters during the evaluation process Convolutional Neural Networks used achieved an accuracy rate of 92%. To translate English to the Tulu language, we employed a parallel sentence dataset for the neural approach and a parallel word dataset for the rule-based approach. The rule-based approach resulted in an 89% accuracy rate for word-based analysis and an 81% accuracy rate for sentence-based analysis for the English-to-Tulu language translation. The neural machine translation approach of the Encoder-Decoder model with LSTM is been used to accomplish translation from English to Tulu with a BLEU score of 0.83 and Tulu to English with a BLUE score of 0.65. The model also employed hybrid machine translation to enhance the translation.

Connected and autonomous vehicles (CAVs) have witnessed significant attention from industries, and academia for research and developments towards the on-road realisation of the technology. State-of-the-art CAVs utilise existing navigation systems for mobility and travel path planning. However, reliable connectivity to navigation systems is not guaranteed, particularly in urban road traffic environments with high-rise buildings, nearby roads and multi-level flyovers. In this connection, this paper presents TAKEN-Traffic Knowledge-based Navigation for enabling CAVs in urban road traffic environments. A traffic analysis model is proposed for mining the sensor-oriented traffic data to generate a precise navigation path for the vehicle. A knowledge-sharing method is developed for collecting and generating new traffic knowledge from on-road vehicles. CAVs navigation is executed using the information enabled by traffic knowledge and analysis. The experimental performance evaluation results attest to the benefits of TAKEN in the precise navigation of CAVs in urban traffic environments.

Effective waste management is important for reducing environmental harm, improving recycling operations, and building urban sustainability. However, accurate waste classification remains a critical challenge, as many deep learning models struggle with diverse waste types. In this study, classification accuracy is enhanced using transfer learning, ensemble techniques, and custom architectures. Eleven pre-trained convolutional neural networks, including ResNet-50, EfficientNet variants, and DenseNet-201, were fine-tuned to extract meaningful patterns from waste images. To further improve model performance, ensemble strategies such as weighted averaging, soft voting, and stacking were implemented, resulting in a hybrid model combining ResNet-50, EfficientNetV2-M, and DenseNet-201, which outperformed individual models. In the proposed system, two specialized architectures were developed: EcoMobileNet, an optimized MobileNetV3 Large-based model incorporating Squeeze-and-Excitation blocks for efficient mobile deployment, and EcoDenseNet, a DenseNet-201 variant enhanced with Mish activation for improved feature extraction. The evaluation was conducted on a dataset comprising 4691 images across 10 waste categories, sourced from publicly available repositories. The implementation of EcoMobileNet achieved a test accuracy of 98.08%, while EcoDenseNet reached an accuracy of 97.86%. The hybrid model also attained 98.08% accuracy. Furthermore, the ensemble stacking approach yielded the highest test accuracy of 98.29%, demonstrating its effectiveness in classifying heterogeneous waste types. By leveraging deep learning, the proposed system contributes to the development of scalable, sustainable, and automated waste-sorting solutions, thereby optimizing recycling processes and minimizing environmental impact.
