Sathish Sivaprakasam is an academic researcher, currently working at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, Lubbock, TX. Dr. Sathish Sivaprakasam obtained his Ph.D. in Biochemistry in India and carried out his first post-doctoral training at the Medical College of Georgia, Augusta, GA on inflammatory bowl disease. His research focuses on the role of G-protein-coupled receptors in health and diseases, focused on gut-microbiota-immune regulation and the gut–brain axis. He is also studying the connection between the amino acid transporters (SLC6A14 and SLC38A5) and citrate transporter (SLC13A5/INDY) with various diseases, including obesity, hepatic steatosis, hepatocellular carcinoma and colon cancer.
