This study examines the role of proactive corporate environmental responsibility on corporate financial performance in the Chinese energy industry by the multi-variables regression analysis of panel data. Using data of 264 firm-year observations from 2009–2014 in the energy industry, the results showed that Proactive corporate environmental responsibility has a positive effect on corporate financial performance passing the endogeneity test. The results also demonstrate that private ownership has stronger promotion on the relationship between proactive corporate environmental responsibility and corporate financial performance. Prefabricated construction (PC) is considered to be a solution for construction unsustainability. Promotion of PC is based on measuring the influencing factors for the diffusion of prefabricated construction technology innovation (PCTI). Therefore, this study explored the influencing factors and underpinned mechanism for the diffusion of PCTI from the perspective of construction enterprises’ adoption, with two dimensions of internal and external. A conceptual model with nine hypotheses was first established. Then, this study conducted a questionnaire survey of 119 construction enterprises across the PC industry, and made an empirical analysis using structural equation model (SEM), to test the model. The results found that both construction enterprises and governments play significant roles in the diffusion of PCTI while agencies and consumers do not. Besides, network power of construction enterprises plays a mediating role in the relationship. This study provides decision-making assistances for different stakeholders in the PC industry.
This study provides an overview of corporate ethical responsibility (CER) studies and discusses potential future research directions. We use citations analysis in this study, because it is an efficient method for identifying and visualizing intellectual bases in a given field. Then, it presents a conceptual model that summarizes the key relationships within the CER literature by reviewing the source articles. Finally, this study synthesizes intellectual contributions to CER literature, highlights unresolved issues, and identifies areas for future research.
Although the research on the corporate social responsibility (CSR) has attached increasing attention in recent years, the definition and measurement of CSR in the construction industry are still not sufficient. This paper reviewed previous literatures on the definition and measurement of CSR. Then, the study defined and constructed the index of corporate social responsibility in the construction industry based on the classic theory of triple bottom line and stakeholder theory. At last, the study put forward the further research of CSR in the CSR of China.
