Luís Filipe Almeida Bernardo is an Associate Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering and Architecture and researcher at the GeoBioTec, University of Beira Interior, Covilhã, Portugal. His research involves the use and development of new analytical and numerical techniques to model the nonlinear mechanical behavior of structural materials (including structural concrete and steel, composites, and new structural materials), structural members, and building systems. His research also focuses on structural and topology optimization.
