The fatigue resistance of asphalt mixture is an important indicator to evaluate the durability of asphalt pavement. In order to improve the fatigue properties of asphalt mixture, diatomite and environmental basalt fiber were added. Four types of asphalt mixtures, ordinary asphalt mixture (AM), diatomite modified asphalt mixture (DAM), basalt fiber modified asphalt mixture (BFAM) and diatomite/basalt fiber composite modified asphalt mixture (DBFAM), were chosen, whose optimum asphalt–aggregate ratio, optimum content of diatomite and optimum content of basalt fiber could be determined by Marshall test and response surface methodology (RSM). The multi-functional pneumatic servo Cooper test machine was carried out by a four-point bending fatigue test. Through the comparative analysis of flexural-tensile stiffness modulus (S), initial stiffness modulus(S0), residual stiffness modulus ratio, lag angle (ϕ) and cumulative dissipation energy (ECD), the fatigue resistance of asphalt mixture can be effectively improved by adding diatomite and basalt fiber. Grey correlation analysis was also used to analyze the degree of correlation between the fatigue life and the influencing factors such as VV, VMA, VFA, OAC, S, and ECD. The analysis results indicate that ECD has the greatest impact on the fatigue life of the asphalt mixture.
With the development of large-scale projects such as high-rise buildings, deep-sea platforms, bridges, etc., these construction facilities are affected by many factors such as environment and geological conditions, which put forward higher requirements for pile-bearing capacity. Compared with the straight-hole grouted piles, the CEP (concrete expanded-plate) piles have an increased bearing plate, which has stronger resistance to pullout under the action of axial tension. The location of the bearing plate is the main factor affecting the bearing capacity of a CEP pile. This study simulates and analyzes CEP double piles on ANSYS software (Ansys R19.0 versions) under ideal conditions, designs five types of model piles with different bearing plate positions, and divides them into six groups for simulation. Finally, a complete model of the two-pile system is established. It is obtained that when the bearing plate is in the same position, the longer the pile length above the bearing plate, the greater the ultimate bearing capacity of the CEP double piles; when the bearing plates of a double pile are at different positions, the antipull-force-bearing capacity of the double pile mainly depends on the pile with a smaller pile length above the bearing plate, and determines the calculation mode of a CEP double-pile antipull-force-bearing capacity at different bearing plate positions, so as to provide a theoretical basis for the design and application of CEP pile foundations in large building structures in the future.
Pile spacing is an important factor affecting the bearing capacity of concrete expansion pile (CEP) groups. In this study, a pile group was simulated and analyzed using ANSYS software R19.0. The influence of pile spacing on the bearing capacity of the pile group under a vertical load was determined using three sets of four-, six-, and nine-pile models with different pile spacings. The grid division of the pile soil model adopts a mapping method, using the contact types of rigid and flexible bodies and applying surface loads to the model piles step-by-step. After vertical pressure was applied to the model pile, in-depth analysis was conducted on the displacement cloud map, pile top displacement, and other data. The different stress conditions of corner, edge, and center piles in each model group were compared and analyzed, revealing the relationship between the stress mechanism and failure law of the soil around the pile and the pile spacing. It was found that the soil displacement range of edge piles is slightly larger than that of corner piles. This phenomenon gradually decreases with increasing pile spacing. When the pile spacing increases to four times the cantilever diameter, the difference in soil displacement at different pile positions is small, and the pile spacing has little effect on the compressive bearing capacity of the pile group. Thus, it is reasonable to control the pile spacing at three to four times the cantilever diameter. In the nine-pile model, when the load is loaded to the 20-step level, the displacement value of the central pile is −72.278 mm, while the displacement values of the edge pile and corner pile are −69.012 mm and −66.806 mm. It is shown that increasing the pile spacing can effectively reduce the pile group effect and improve the bearing capacity of the pile foundation. At present, CEP pile groups are gradually being applied in practical engineering, but research on the influence of pile spacing on the compressive bearing performance of CEP pile groups is still at a very early stage. This article reinforces the influence of pile spacing on the compressive bearing performance of CEP pile groups. It provides theoretical support for its application in practical engineering.

In this paper, it is computer simulation studied that the influence of the slope angle of expanded-plate of the new-type concrete expanded-plate pile (the NT-CEP pile) to the uplift failure mechanism. The model piles of different slope angle are designed in undisturbed soil test, in which the effect about the bearing capacity of the NT-CEP pile and the failure behavior of the soil is analyzed, at the same time, the computer simulating analysis of finite element is assistant by the ANSYS software, to verify the test results. The innovation of this paper is mainly to test research methods, which improves and innovates the existing model test method and test equipment because of completing the test with undisturbed soil and ensuring the reliability of the test results. The research results of this paper will enrich and improve the design theory of the NT-CEP pile and play a necessary complement to the practical engineering application and a positive role in promoting the research and application of the NT-CEP pile.
The soil displacement field around a drill-expanded concrete pile is noticeably different from that of an equivalent section pile placed under axial load due to the mutual embedment between the expanded body and the soil. It is important to study the soil displacement field around drill-expanded concrete piles in order to understand the mechanisms of interaction between the pile and the soil. First, the model test of the half-face pile installed in undisturbed soil and the model test of the half-face pile installed in sand were used to study the soil displacement field around the pile. Then, the entire process of the soil displacement field’s formation and development under the load was observed by using digital image correlation (DIC) techniques. Finally, numerical simulation was used to verify the results of the model tests. The results show that the displacement characteristics of the soil around the pile in the undisturbed soil and sand are basically the same. There is a clear soil compression zone under the expanded body, and the magnitude and density of the displaced soil in the compression zone are much higher than in other areas. Both the vertical displacement and the horizontal displacement gradually decrease as the distance from the expanded body and the burial depth increase. The horizontal displacement of the soil under the expanded body follows a trend of first moving toward the pile body and then moving away from it. The results of the numerical simulation are basically consistent with the results of the model test, indicating that the results of the model test are relatively reliable.

This work uses ANSYS software to simulate and analyze the new flexible concrete expanded plate (NT-CEP) piles, mainly evaluating the anti-overturning bearing performance of NT-CEP piles with different plate cross-sectional forms and the damage state of the soil around the pile. The software is used to design four groups of model piles with different plate cross-sectional forms and conduct an in-depth analysis of the displacement cloud diagram, load—displacement curve, and stress cloud diagram after load failure. The pile-soil force mechanism and failure law are obtained, and the flexible NT-CEP is analyzed. The calculation model of the ultimate horizontal bearing capacity of the NT-CEP piles supplements the theoretical results of the concrete expanded piles under horizontal loads and provides theoretical support for its design and popularization in practical engineering.
