Mario Rafael Giraldi-Diaz earned a doctorate (Ph.D.) in Environmental Engineering at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia, Spain. He was granted two postdoctoral research fellowships in Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, Faculty of Engineering, and in Centre Tecnològic de Manresa-Centro Tecnológico Eurecat in Spain. He has more than 10 years of experience in the scientific field of industrial ecology. He is a full-time professor at the Faculty of Chemical Sciences and the Environmental Engineering Educational Program at Universidad Veracruzana campus Xalapa, at a bachelor’s degree level and postgraduate education. He is a member of the basic nucleus of the Specialization Program in Diagnosis and Environmental Management. He has a distinction as a National Researcher Level I for the National System of Researchers in Mexico and a Desirable Profile for Programa para el Desarrollo Profesional Docente (PRODEP) (Program for Professional Docent Development). He has led several bachelor’s degree thesis projects and postgraduate projects as well. He is a national and international lecturer at seminars related to municipal solid waste. He is author of peer-reviewed scientific articles and 12 articles indexed in the Journal Citation Report.
