Entrepreneurship has been increasingly promoted as a means to achieve women’s empowerment in the pursuit of gender equal societies by international development organizations, NGO’s as well as national and local governments across the world. Against this, the paper explores the role and influence of multi-actor engagement on successful empowerment of women based on a case study of Kudumbashree program in a regional context of Kerala, in South India. Our objective is to examine the women empowerment outcomes of the Kudumbashree initiatives, implemented within a multi-actor engagement framework supportive of women’s empowerment through capacity building and social inclusion programs. The case study demonstrates ‘how multiple-level engagements help enhance women’s development and support broad sustainable social change, in view of their sensitivity to the embeddedness of women’s agency under specific socio-political and cultural contexts’. We find that Kudumbashree programs, through its multi-actor engagement, strives for an equilibrium between social change through policy and regulatory change (top down) and social change via mobilizing the people (bottom-up). From a policy angle, the key learnings from the successful outcomes of Kudumbashree may be considered for designing rural and urban community development programs with a focus on the multidimensional empowerment as well as social and economic inclusion of women and other marginalized communities.

Foreign aid, foreign direct investment (FDI), exports and remittances result critical for the economic growth of countries that are geographically isolated from the rest of the world and located at disaster prone areas such as Fiji. The research proposes these variables might have a different impact in emerging economies, based on the current social, economic and political context of the recipient country. This implies that prior to allocating scarce resources, each country's framework should have been analysed to maximise their potential impact. For this study, we applied Johansen cointegration and vector error correction model (VECM) on time series data over the period of 1979-2017. The results reveal that the variables under study have a positive impact on the economic growth of Fiji. Furthermore, the combined effect of foreign aid and FDI provides synergies, increasing its positive effects. We recommend Fiji authorities to implement appropriate government policies that prioritise exports, foreign aid, FDI and remittances in the expressed order, in order to foster sustainable economic growth. We also present a policy framework through the integration of results of our study.

The last two decades have witnessed the campus recruitment system gaining popularity in India. In most of the cases, a few employers are prioritised frequently by students for employment. The existing literature describes that job choice decisions are rational and is based on job and organisational attributes. Contemporary research highlights that social norms and acceptance influence present-day job aspirants' career choice decisions. This study investigates the role of social norms in career choice decisions of prospective employees who are in the final phase of completing their college education. For this study, a qualitative approach is adopted. In-depth interviews with students in their last year of a second-tier business school in India were carried out for gaining insights into the career choices. The study found the relationship between the role of normative and informational social elements in career choice decisions of individuals.

This study aims to examine the impact of economic uncertainty via coups on the growth of Fiji's GDP. During coup and post-coup periods, uncertainty disrupts the economic and political situation of the country, ultimately affecting economic growth. Investment, merchandise imports, inflation and government net consumption expenditure are the variables under investigation. This study employs the time series model over five different periods, from 1970 to 2016, in order to estimate the effect of coups on economic growth. Merchandise imports and government spending exert the greatest effect on economic growth in Fiji along the five coup periods under study. Based on the findings of this study, we encourage policy makers in Fiji to rely on government consumption expenditures in order to promote economic growth during recession periods and foster it during expansion times. Imports, as long as they provide technology and knowledge transfer, might as well assist in fostering economic growth.

Organisations subsist in a knowledge-based society where there exist a strong need to interact with its environment and establish relations. These relationships help firms to procure and share knowledge which is quintessential for carrying out their operations. The goal of this study ascertains the impact of relational capital management in firm's performance in the textile industry in India. The study was conducted among managers of leading textile manufacturing firms in Tiruppur area. The hypothesis set for the study was empirically tested by using partial least square method, in the models set for the study was found to be valid at P < 0.05. The paper concludes that relational capital components and the firm performance are positively related.

Knowledge Management literature lays emphasis on the fact that a major chunk of knowledge dissemination occurs through the various forms of social networks that exist within the organizations. A social network is a simple structure comprising of set of actors or nodes that may have relationships ties with one another. The social network analysis (SNA) will help in mapping and measuring formal and informal relationships to understand what facilitates or impedes the knowledge flows that bind interacting units. This paper aims at studying the knowledge flows that happen through the social networks. It first, provides a conceptual framework and review of literature on the recent research and application of knowledge mapping and SNA, followed by a discussion on application of SNA for mapping knowledge flows in a pharmaceutical firm. In the last part, Knowledge maps are presented to illustrate the actual knowledge flow in firm.
