This study characterizes and compares the parameters of the quality reproduction of fine elements in flexography on coated and uncoated paper as well as on OPP film (oriented polypropylene). A monochrome test form was created and printed using cyan UV ink. The analysis of results confirms the importance of interaction between the printing substrate and ink; it also indicates identical line and text deformations on the print. Quality reproduction on coated paper is higher in relation to OPP film for all the research parameters. The ink penetrates significantly more and with more irregularity into the pores and throats of the uncoated paper, which results in less homogeneous elements, and in such way that it loses its original shape. In coated paper and OPP film, the ink spreads more on the substrate area which gives it a significantly more homogeneous shape. However, due to the surface spread of the ink, the biggest changes in the size of fine elements are noticeable in the OPP film. The scientific contribution of this paper is based on the comparison of print quality parameters of fine elements, which can contribute to the optimization of the production process and quality of the final graphical product.

In this paper authors examine readability and legibility of text on iPad and compare it partially to reading from computer screen and paper. Following previous research, two independent variables were measured: speed of reading (T) and...
The changing habits of consuming entertainment via digital channels have been well researched in contemporary academic papers, as has the migration of different forms and formats into digital environments. Often these migrations are based on familiarity for facilitating the smooth transition into the new format, with additions specific to the digital channel (e.g., animations, sound effects, 3D perspectives, etc.) that are supposed to enhance user experience. In this paper, we present a comparative study of visual elements used in physical and digital versions of two tabletop games (Monopoly and UNO). Results from a sample of 100 players of both versions show higher overall satisfaction when engaging with the physical version of the games and significantly lower satisfaction with various visual elements in digital versions, such as overall visual perception, colors, and visual appearance of some key elements of the games. On closer inspection, the results show that the tendency to overload user interfaces with an abundance of interactive and visually enhanced features may reduce game enjoyment and overall satisfaction with the game, presumably due to factors such as information overload and cognitive distraction. In conclusion, it seems that the rule “less is more” could also be applied to the digital transition explained in this article.

The world has entered the digital sources era in which Internet is the main source of news. The disruptive effects of internet on communication and public sphere were observed in many aspects of social life and distracting existing social institutions and the social systems. Discussion in public sphere on many global problems, such as environmental issues arising from global warming and climate change is clouded by divided and opposite views and beliefs, caused, as research that is presented in the article demonstrates, by the nature of the online communication platforms which humankind use to access the news. Aim of this article is to describe communication practices and discourse use connected to the term of climate change in Croatian online media-sphere through the application of semantic and content analysis of the online communication. In this paper are propose effective communication procedures and messages to enhance civil discussion and public engagement on the issue. This research shows the importance of professional media outlets and the importance of singular voices with broad community and huge number of followers on social media sites. Conclusions of this paper are that in presenting novelty it’s essential to avoid sensationalism (the ground for trivialization and denial) and publish exhaustive facts, research data and findings. and left the public to reach their own conclusion. To promote scientifically grounded stories on climate change and all the other environmental issues online, engagement of the scientists and professionals in the field of environmental protection is essential for delivering trustworthy and scientifically proven information to the public. Information provided through social media should, present facts connected to the issues, in a neutral manner to avoid unwanted strategies of reducing cognitive dissonance presented in this paper.
