The issue of employee turnover is always critical for companies, and accurate predictions can help them prepare in time. Most past studies on employee turnover have focused on analyzing impact factors or using simple network centrality measures. In this paper, we study the problem from a completely new perspective by modeling users’ historical job records as a dynamic bipartite graph. Specifically, we propose a bipartite graph embedding method with temporal information called dynamic bipartite graph embedding (DBGE) to learn the vector representation of employees and companies. Our approach not only considers the relations between employees and companies but also incorporates temporal information embedded in consecutive work records. We first define the Horary Random Walk on a bipartite graph to generate a sequence for each vertex in chronological order. Then, we employ the skip-gram model to obtain a temporal low-dimensional vector representation for each vertex and apply machine learning methods to predict employee turnover behavior by combining embedded features with employees’ basic information. Experiments on a real-world dataset collected from one of China’s largest online professional social networks show that the features learned through DBGE can significantly improve turnover prediction performance. Moreover, experiments on public Amazon and Taobao datasets show that our approach achieves better performance in the link prediction and visualization task than other graph embedding methods that do not consider temporal information.

Given the severe impact of Citrus Huanglongbing on orchard production, accurate detection of the disease is crucial in orchard management. In the natural environments, due to factors such as varying light intensities, mutual occlusion of citrus leaves, the extremely small size of Huanglongbing leaves, and the high similarity between Huanglongbing and other citrus diseases, there remains an issue of low detection accuracy when using existing mainstream object detection models for the detection of citrus Huanglongbing. To address this issue, we propose YOLO-EAF (You Only Look Once–Efficient Asymptotic Fusion), an improved model based on YOLOv8n. Firstly, the Efficient Multi-Scale Attention Module with cross-spatial learning (EMA) is integrated into the backbone feature extraction network to enhance the feature extraction and integration capabilities of the model. Secondly, the adaptive spatial feature fusion (ASFF) module is used to enhance the feature fusion ability of different levels of the model so as to improve the generalization ability of the model. Finally, the focal and efficient intersection over union (Focal–EIOU) is utilized as the loss function, which accelerates the convergence process of the model and improves the regression precision and robustness of the model. In order to verify the performance of the YOLO-EAF method, we tested it on the self-built citrus Huanglongbing image dataset. The experimental results showed that YOLO-EAF achieved an 8.4% higher precision than YOLOv8n on the self-built dataset, reaching 82.7%. The F1-score increased by 3.33% to 77.83%, and the mAP (0.5) increased by 3.3% to 84.7%. Through experimental comparisons, the YOLO-EAF model proposed in this paper offers a new technical route for the monitoring and management of Huanglongbing in smart orange orchards.

The accurate detection and identification of pests and diseases on cucumber leaves is a prerequisite for scientifically controlling such issues. To address the limited detection accuracy of existing models in complex and diverse natural backgrounds, this study proposes an improved deep learning network model based on YOLOv8, named SEDCN-YOLOv8. First, the deformable convolution network DCNv2 (Deformable Convolution Network version 2) is introduced, replacing the original C2f module with an improved C2f_DCNv2 module in the backbone feature extraction network’s final C2f block. This enhances the model’s ability to recognize multi-scale, deformable leaf shapes and disease characteristics. Second, a Separated and Enhancement Attention Module (SEAM) is integrated to construct an improved detection head, Detect_SEAM, which strengthens the learning of critical features in pest and disease channels. This module also captures the relationship between occluded and non-occluded leaves, thereby improving the recognition of diseased leaves that are partially obscured. Finally, the original CIOU loss function of YOLOv8 is replaced with the Focaler-SIOU loss function. The experimental results demonstrate that the SEDCN-YOLOv8 network achieves a mean average precision (mAP) of 75.1% for mAP50 and 53.1% for mAP50-95 on a cucumber pest and disease dataset, representing improvements of 1.8 and 1.5 percentage points, respectively, over the original YOLOv8 model. The new model exhibits superior detection accuracy and generalization capabilities, with a model size of 6 MB and a detection speed of 400 frames per second, fully meeting the requirements for industrial deployment and real-time detection. Therefore, the SEDCN-YOLOv8 network model demonstrates broad applicability and can be effectively used in large-scale real-world scenarios for cucumber leaf pest and disease detection.

Accurate weld seam recognition is essential in automated welding systems, as it directly affects path planning and welding quality. With the rapid advancement of industrial vision, weld seam instance segmentation has emerged as a prominent research focus in both academia and industry. However, existing approaches still face significant challenges in boundary perception and structural representation. Due to the inherently elongated shapes, complex geometries, and blurred edges of weld seams, current segmentation models often struggle to maintain high accuracy in practical applications. To address this issue, a novel structure-aware and boundary-enhanced YOLO (SABE-YOLO) is proposed for weld seam instance segmentation. First, a Structure-Aware Fusion Module (SAFM) is designed to enhance structural feature representation through strip pooling attention and element-wise multiplicative fusion, targeting the difficulty in extracting elongated and complex features. Second, a C2f-based Boundary-Enhanced Aggregation Module (C2f-BEAM) is constructed to improve edge feature sensitivity by integrating multi-scale boundary detail extraction, feature aggregation, and attention mechanisms. Finally, the inner minimum point distance-based intersection over union (Inner-MPDIoU) is introduced to improve localization accuracy for weld seam regions. Experimental results on the self-built weld seam image dataset show that SABE-YOLO outperforms YOLOv8n-Seg by 3 percentage points in the AP(50–95) metric, reaching 46.3%. Meanwhile, it maintains a low computational cost (18.3 GFLOPs) and a small number of parameters (6.6M), while achieving an inference speed of 127 FPS, demonstrating a favorable trade-off between segmentation accuracy and computational efficiency. The proposed method provides an effective solution for high-precision visual perception of complex weld seam structures and demonstrates strong potential for industrial application.

In order to obtain the standard image based on the Gerber file in the AOI (Automatic Optical Inspection), an implementation method is proposed by analysing and converting the Gerber file into a bitmap image. According to the command format rules of Gerber file, the approach is designed to analyse Gerber files by constructing the command regular expression of Gerber files. In order to achieve convenient access to the drawing data, the drawing data processing is performed by defining a class, then the drawing data is stored in a dynamic array and the adjustment factors are added in the drawing data at the same time to meet the further post-processing needs of bitmap image. This method can quickly analyse Gerber files, adjust drawing data and generate bitmap images.

Varistors are critical overvoltage protection components in modern power electronic systems. They effectively absorb and dissipate surge energy to ensure the safe and stable operation of electrical equipment. However, surface defects can lead to substandard performance or even trigger equipment failure, compromising overall system stability. Therefore, high-precision surface defect detection is essential for quality assurance. To address these challenges, we propose a lightweight model termed Defect-Aware and Edge-Reconstruction Enhanced YOLO (DAER-YOLO) for efficient varistor inspection. First, we construct a C3k2-based defect-aware enhancement module (C3k2-iEMA). This module tackles the difficulty of extracting features from small or morphologically complex defects. By integrating multi-scale feature extraction, an attention mechanism, and efficient nonlinear mapping, it strengthens the perception of defect details. Second, to enhance the reconstruction capability for edge damage and small-object defects, we introduce the Efficient Up-Convolution Block (EUCB). This block improves multi-level feature fusion and generates clearer enhanced feature maps. Based on these improvements, DAER-YOLO outperforms the YOLOv11n baseline on a custom varistor dataset, with mAP@50 and mAP@50:95 increasing by 1.6% and 2.3%, respectively. Experimental results demonstrate that the model effectively improves detection accuracy while exhibiting significant potential for real-time industrial applications.
