Research Scientist at the Institute of CNR-ISAC (Rome branch) since December 2011, Co-coordinator of the ISAC Macro-Area Observations and Models for Meteorology and Climate (CAMEO), and member of the Precipitation Measurement Mission Science Team. She earned a MS degree in Physics (with honor) at Sapienza University of Rome, and a Ph.D. at the UW-Madison, Dept. of Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences. She has been involved in research activities focused on remote sensing of clouds and precipitation for nearly 25 years. Her current research projects are related to satellite-based precipitation retrieval, global precipitation monitoring and estimation, hydrological applications, and extreme events in the Mediterranean area.
