Naofumi Wada received his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Engineering from Hokkaido University, Japan, in 2002 and 2004, respectively, and his Ph.D. in Information Science from Hokkaido University in 2015. He worked as a researcher at Toshiba Corporation (2004-2009) and at Samsung R&D Institute Japan (2009-2016). In 2016, he moved to Hokkaido University of Science as a Lecturer and was promoted to Associate Professor in 2020 and to Professor in 2025. His research topics mainly include image and video signal processing, video coding, and computer vision.
