Dr. Eng. Mariusz Szóstak is employed at the Department of Building Engineering, Faculty of Civil Engineering, at Wroclaw University of Science and Technology, Poland. He is the author of more than 70 scientific papers, including papers on work safety in construction and articles in journals in the Journal Citation Reports database. He developed dozens of reviews of articles in journals from the JCR list, such as Applied Sciences, Buildings, International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health, etc. Research interests concern issues related to safety and health protection in construction processes, in particular modeling of accidents phenomenon in the construction industry, analysis of the causes of accidents in construction and construction project management, e.g., cost analysis of construction projects; value engineering; BIM technology. He is a Project Manager from the Wroclaw University of Science and Technology of the project Erasmus+ Strategic Partnerships for vocational educational and training. Innovation “SafeCRobot Virtual Reality Immersive Safety Training Environment for Robotised and Automated Construction Sites” and a member of the research team of the project “Model of the assessment of risk of the occurrence of building catastrophes, accidents, and dangerous events at workplaces with the use of scaffolding” supported by Polish National Centre of Research and Development. Since 2022 he has been a Member of the Academy of Young Scholars and Artists.
