Artificial intelligence (AI) is providing novel answers to long-standing clinical problems, and it is quickly changing pediatric urology. This thorough analysis focuses on current developments in AI technologies that improve pediatric urology diagnosis, treatment planning, and surgery results. Deep learning algorithms help detect problems with previously unheard-of precision in disorders including hydronephrosis, pyeloplasty, and vesicoureteral reflux, where AI-powered prediction models have demonstrated promising outcomes in boosting diagnostic accuracy. AI-enhanced image processing methods have significantly improved the quality and interpretation of medical images. Examples of these methods are deep-learning-based segmentation and contrast limited adaptive histogram equalization (CLAHE). These methods guarantee higher precision in the identification and classification of pediatric urological disorders, and AI-driven ground truth construction approaches aid in the standardization of and improvement in training data, resulting in more resilient and consistent segmentation models. AI is being used for surgical support as well. AI-assisted navigation devices help with difficult operations like pyeloplasty by decreasing complications and increasing surgical accuracy. AI also helps with long-term patient monitoring, predictive analytics, and customized treatment strategies, all of which improve results for younger patients. However, there are practical, ethical, and legal issues with AI integration in pediatric urology that need to be carefully navigated. To close knowledge gaps, more investigation is required, especially in the areas of AI-driven surgical methods and standardized ground truth datasets for pediatric radiologic image segmentation. In the end, AI has the potential to completely transform pediatric urology by enhancing patient care, increasing the effectiveness of treatments, and spurring more advancements in this exciting area.

At the nexus of signal processing and machine learning (ML), silent speech recognition (SSR) has evolved as a game-changing technology that allows for communication without audible voice. This study offers a thorough overview of SSR, tracing its evolution from early waveform analysis to the most recent ML methods. We start by examining current SSR techniques using ML and determining the essential conditions for efficient SSR systems. After that, we look at the datasets and data collection techniques currently employed in SSR research, highlighting the difficulties posed by the variety of articulatory movements and the scarcity of data. Examining state-of-the-art SSR frameworks, the paper covers important topics such signal processing, feature extraction, ML techniques for decoding and optimizing and assessing the performance of SSR models. We emphasize how deep learning (DL) and ML models have evolved to increase SSR resilience and accuracy. The field's proposed procedures are examined, with an emphasis on sophisticated feature extraction and classification methods. Modern SSR techniques are compared in terms of performance, highlighting the advantages and disadvantages of different models. There is also discussion of ethical issues, especially those pertaining to privacy and consent. The integration of multimodal information—visual cues, electromyography signals, and neuroimaging data—to improve SSR systems is covered in this work. We investigate the functions of transfer learning and domain adaptation in handling cross-subject variability. Lastly, the study offers suggestions and future prospects for SSR research, providing practitioners, engineers, and academics with a road map. As SSR continues to push the frontiers of human–machine interaction, our study aims to increase our collective understanding of the technological advances and societal effects of SSR in the ML age.

Background/Objectives: As the primary cause of cancer-related death globally, lung cancer highlights the critical need for early identification, precise staging, and individualized treatment planning. By enabling automated diagnosis, staging, and prognostic evaluation, recent developments in artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) have completely changed the treatment of lung cancer. The goal of this narrative review is to compile the most recent data on uses of AI and ML throughout the lung cancer care continuum. Methods: A comprehensive literature search was conducted across major scientific databases to identify peer-reviewed studies focused on AI-based imaging, detection, and prognostic modeling in lung cancer. Studies were categorized into three thematic domains: (1) detection and screening, (2) staging and diagnosis, and (3) risk prediction and prognosis. Results: Convolutional neural networks (CNNs), in particular, have shown significant sensitivity and specificity in nodule recognition, segmentation, and false-positive reduction. Radiomics-based models and other multimodal frameworks combining imaging and clinical data have great promise for forecasting treatment outcomes and survival rates. The accuracy of non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) staging, lymph node evaluation, and malignancy classification were regularly improved by AI algorithms, frequently matching or exceeding radiologist performance. Conclusions: There are still issues with data heterogeneity, interpretability, repeatability, and clinical acceptability despite significant advancements. Standardized datasets, ethical AI implementation, and transparent model evaluation should be the top priorities for future initiatives. AI and ML have revolutionary potential for intelligent, personalized, and real-time lung cancer treatment by connecting computational innovation with precision oncology.

Accurately predicting the severity of subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) is critical for informing clinical decisions and improving patient outcomes. This study addresses the challenges of imbalanced data in SAH severity classification by employing the Modified Rankin Scale (MRS) within a three-stage classification framework. We utilize a three-stage approach to effectively categorize SAH severity. In the first stage, we performed binary classification, grouping SAH severity into “Good Outcome” (class 0), which includes MRS levels 0, 1, 2, and 3, and “Poor Outcome” (class 1), encompassing levels 4, 5, and 6. Feature selection was done using a Random Forest algorithm to identify the top 20 features for the SAH severity prediction. We evaluated thirteen machine learning models at each stage, selecting the top-performing classifiers to optimize results. The dataset comprised 535 samples across seven MRS severity levels and was validated using 5-fold cross-validation and diverse subgroups to ensure robust model performance across various scenarios. Binary classification in the first stage achieved approximately 90% accuracy with Extra Trees. In the second stage, targeting the “Good Outcome” group, the Random Forest model reached 88% accuracy, while in the third stage, it achieved 86% accuracy for the “Poor Outcome” group. By increasing accuracy across unbalanced classes and emphasizing its potential for practical use, the multi-stage technique presents a promising solution for predicting the severity of SAH. Future research will concentrate on additional tuning to improve the model’s efficacy in actual healthcare environments.
