Mariano Venanzi is full professor of physical chemistry at the Department of Chemical Science and Technologies of the University of Rome Tor Vergata (UTOV), Italy. He got a PhD degree at the University of Rome, ‘Sapienza’ (1988). In 1998, he became associate professor of physical chemistry at UTOV. His research activity focuses on the photophysical properties of biomolecules in solution and in organized phase, peptide-based materials, peptide self-assembly, and peptide nanostructures. He is the author of more than 190 papers (H-index 31, cit. > 3300). Recently founded projects: Nanosupremi (IRSES, 2016) and Pepsamate (Marie Sklodowska Curie Action 2020). Teaching: physical chemistry, nanoscience, and biological physical chemistry. Academic duties: Chair of the School of Chemistry at UTOV (2007–2015) and Chair of the School of Applied Chemistry at UTOV (2021–2024) Membership (board): Physical Chemistry Division of the Italian Chemical Society (SCI) (2007–2009; 2019–2021). SCI Didactic Division (2010–2012), (2022–2024), and Chair of SCI-Lazio (2017–2019), Scientific Committee Italian Peptide Society (ItPS) (2022–2024).
