Salvatore Magazù is Full Professor of Experimental Physics at University of Messina, where he chairs the research group in biophysics and meteorology. He is president of the Interuniversity Consortium of Applied Physical Sciences (CISFA), member of the L'Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science Jury. In 2009-2010 and 2016-2017 he was researcher at the STUDIUM Loire Valley Institute for Advanced Studies, Orléans, France. From 2013 to 2015 he was president of the International Consortium COSMO in Orléans (France). From 2010 to 2012 he was President of the Scientific Board "Disordered systems and liquids" of the European Synchrotron Radiation ESRF structure (Grenoble, France). From 2008 to 2010 he was a member of the Scientific College "Structure and dynamics of liquids and glasses" of the neutron scattering structure Institut Max Von Laue - Paul Langevin. He is a spin-off founder and president of the Scientific Council of the Innovative Start-up ATHENA Green Solutions S.r.l. specialized in the field of materials http://www.athenagreensolutions.com/. His research activity is evidenced by numerous awards, among which the 2000 European Science Award of the French Academy of Sciences stands out.
