Ronaldo Gabriel completed his PhD in Sports Science (1999) at the University of Tras-os-Montes and Alto Douro (UTAD) Portugal. He is an Associate Professor with Aggregation at UTAD. He is an Integrated Member of the Center for Agri-Environmental and Biological Research and Technologies (CITAB) responsible for LaB2Health (Laboratory of Biomechanics, Body Composition and Health) and member of the UNESCO Chair on Geoparks, Sustainable Regional Development and Healthy Lifestyles. Since 2008, he has led four projects: “FLUVIAL—Nuevas Ciudades Fluviales del Siglo XXI”, “MARCADUERO, MARCA DUERO DURADERO: Sustainability, Quality and Promotion”, “ADAPTACLIMA II—Adaptation to Climate Change in SUDOE” and “Atlantic-Geoparks—Transnational Promotion and Cooperation of the Atlantic Geoparks for Sustainable Development”. Currently, he leads the project TRIPLE-C. His current research interests are focused on linking sustainable ecosystems and human health, measuring exposure to nature and understanding mechanisms.
