Prof. Kathleen Bennett is a Professor of Biostatistics at the School of Population Health, the Head of the Data Science Centre and the Deputy Head of the School for Research in RCSI. She is a co-investigator in the EU-funded COLOSSUS programme researching new approaches to metastatic colorectal cancer and was a co-investigator in the Irish Cancer Society’s collaborative cancer research centre, BREAST-PREDICT. She has over 25 years experience of undertaking medical research. After completing her BSc in mathematics and statistics at Southampton University she spent two years working as a clinical trials statistician in the pharmaceutical industry before returning to Southampton to complete a PhD. She was employed as an epidemiologist/ biostatistician in the Department of Pharmacology and Therapeutics, Trinity College Dublin for several years before joining RCSI in 2016.
