Information

Tommaso Lomonaco is a Researcher of Analytical Chemistry at the Department of Chemistry and Industrial Chemistry (DCCI) of the University of Pisa. He received a PhD in Analytical Chemistry at the University of Pisa in 2015. His research activity aims at identifying chemical markers in body fluids (breath, sweat, saliva, and dried blood spots) through LC-MS and GC-MS to develop innovative diagnostic and patient monitoring tools. Moreover, in the last years, he carried out studies to evaluate the impact of the collection procedures on the chemical composition of breath and saliva samples. He is currently involved in a benchmarking study (PEPPERMINT study) that aims to standardize breath sampling. He is a member of the International Association of Therapeutic Drug Monitoring and Clinical Toxicology (IATDM) and the International Association of Breath Research (IABR).
