Prof. Elias Olivares-Benitez received a bachelor’s degree in metallurgical engineering from Instituto Politecnico Nacional, a master’s degree in industrial engineering from Arizona State University, and a master’s degree in manufacturing systems and a doctoral degree in engineering from Tecnologico de Monterrey. He worked as a process and quality engineer in the Steelmaking, Heat Treatment and Quality Labs at TAMSA (Veracruz). He has been a professor of industrial engineering at the Universidad Panamericana, Mexico, since 2016. From 2018 to 2020, he was the president of the Mexican Society of Operations Research. His research topics mainly include operations research, logistics, operations management, metaheuristics, and scientometrics.
