Prof. Dr. Emmeric Tanghe received a M. Sc. degree in electrical engineering from Ghent University (Belgium) in July 2005. From September 2005 to May 2011 he was a research assistant at iMinds-UGent/INTEC (Department of Information Technology) of the same university. His scientific work focused on the modeling of indoor and outdoor propagation through field measurements. This work led to a Ph. D. degree in May 2011. Since May 2011 he has been a post-doctoral researcher at the same institution. Since October 2012, he has been a Post-Doctoral Fellow at the FWO-V (Research Foundation - Flanders). He continues his work in propagation modeling, covering in- and outdoor propagation as well as in-, on-, and off-body propagation for wireless body area networks and medical implants. In October 2015 he became a part-time professor in medical applications of electromagnetic fields in and around the human body.
