Prof. Han-Jung Chae

Han-Jung Chae is the leader and principal investigator for new projects that come through the ER stress lab at the New Drug Development Institute. She is also the Director of ER Stress and a Chaperone of the Korean Molecular Cell Biology as well as a member of the Korean Academic and Science and Technology. Under her leadership, the ER stress laboratory has grown tremendously and become well-known among laboratories in the Republic of Korea. Professor Chae’s core research group delved deeply into endoplasmic reticulum stress and associated proteins in search of pathological relevancy, which helped with developing medicines. Separate from her research, Professor Chae is responsible for teaching budding medical students, and she is a leader in establishing a new world-class pharmacy school that was slated to begin in March 2020.
