Prof. Maria P. Papadopoulou holds a degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Patras (1998) and a Ph.D. in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Vermont, USA (2002). She has been a licensed Civil Engineer in Greece since 1998. She served as a postdoctoral associate in the Department of Environmental Engineering of the Technical University of Crete (2003–2007). She is currently an Assistant Professor at the School of Rural and Surveying Engineering at the National Technical University of Athens. She has written several research papers in scientific journals and has participated in several international and national conferences. She serves as a reviewer for several scientific journals and is a member of national and international scientific societies. She is a member of Greek and international scientific committees. She has participated in many EU, USA, and national-funded research projects. Her principal research interests lie in the areas of environmental design, focusing on quality criteria, environmental planning, environmental water resources management, and optimization techniques applied to environmental design problems.
