Dr. Fatma Taher is an associate professor at the College of Technological Innovation and the director of the NextGen. Center at Zayed University, Dubai, UAE. Her research interests are in the areas of signal and image processing, pattern recognition, malware detection, cybersecurity, medical image analysis (especially in the detection of cancerous cells), kidney transplant and autism, as well as remote sensing and satellite images research. Taher has published more than 200 papers in international journals and conferences. Dr. Taher has received many distinguished awards, such as the UAE Pioneers award and the Innovation award at the 2016 Emirati Women Awards. She received the L’Oréal-UNESCO For Women In Science Middle East Fellowship in 2017, and she served as chair for IEEE UAE section from 2019-2022.
