Nickel-rich cathode material, NCA (85:14:1), is successfully synthesized using two different, simple and economical batch methods, i.e., hydroxide co-precipitation (NCA-CP) and the hydroxides solid state reaction method (NCA-SS), followed by heat treatments. Based on the FTIR spectra, all precursor samples exhibit two functional groups of hydroxide and carbonate. The XRD patterns of NCA-CP and NCA-SS show a hexagonal layered structure (space group: R_3m), with no impurities detected. Based on the SEM images, the micro-sized particles exhibit a sphere-like shape with aggregates. The electrochemical performances of the samples were tested in a 18650-type full-cell battery using artificial graphite as the counter anode at the voltage range of 2.7–4.25 V. All samples have similar characteristics and electrochemical performances that are comparable to the commercial NCA battery, despite going through different synthesis routes. In conclusion, the overall results are considered good and have the potential to be adapted for commercialization.

This paper aims to improve the implementation standards of solar-energy-based street lighting in Indonesia. A model framework was developed to assess existing conditions regarding the level of lux, the distance between poles, pole height, and lamp power. According to the evaluation of the existing circumstances, the street lighting system is not satisfactory according to the national standard, with 64.7% black area. An alternative installation of street lighting designed by DIALux application was proposed to fulfill the technical standard of street lighting. The result shows that this alternative design can be used for renewing existing street lighting with better performance and reliability. Economic analysis of all technically feasible alternatives was conducted afterward by benefit–cost analysis. The analysis shows that solar-energy-based street lighting requires as much as 621,473,620.00 Indonesian Rupiah (IDR), with 1.06 benefit–cost ratios and a 9% reduction of total cost. Therefore, the analysis indicates that solar-energy-based technology can be feasibly implemented in a street lighting system. The results show that the proposed model can be applied to improve the implementation standard of solar-energy-based street lighting.

Indonesia’s government was targeting the adoption of 2.1 million units of two-wheeled electric vehicles and 2,200 units of four-wheeled electric vehicles in 2025 through the Republic of Indonesia's Presidential Regulation No. 22 in 2017 about the National Energy General Plan. In 2019, the Government of Indonesia issued Presidential Regulation No. 55 in 2019 concerning the Acceleration of the Battery Electric Vehicle Program for Road Transportation. In 2018, the adoption of two-wheeled electric vehicles only reached 0.14% of the government's target for 2025. Therefore, the adoption of Electric Motorcycle (EM) technology must also consider many factors to be successful. This research develops a non-behavioral electric vehicle adoption intention model. The factors include sociodemographic, financial, technological, and macro-level. The online survey involved 1,223 respondents. Logistic regression is used to obtain the function and probability value of intention to adopt EM in Indonesia. Frequency of sharing on social media, level of environmental awareness, purchase prices, maintenance costs, maximum speed, battery charging time, availability of charging station infrastructure at work, availability of home power based- charging infrastructure, purchase incentive policies, and charging cost discount incentive policies are significantly influencing the intention to adopt electric vehicles. It also shows that the opportunity for Indonesians to adopt electric motorcycles reaches 82.90%. The realization of the adoption of electric motorcycles in Indonesia requires infrastructure readiness and costs that can be accepted by consumers. Lastly, the results of this research provide some suggestions for the government and businesses to accelerate electric motorcycle adoption in Indonesia.

Commercialization strategy is an all-encompassing plan that organizes technology transfer office goals to commercialize a university’s technologies. Measurement strategy requires feasible variables that make up those goals. This strategy also ensures that all variables that are important in measuring contribute to the larger goals. A useful way to assess and explain the effectiveness of the technology transfer office (TTO) of universities is to model this within a production function/frontier framework. Such a production function is typically estimated econometrically. This study presents evidence on the relative efficiency of research commercialization in the university through the data envelopment analysis (DEA) model. The implication of the DEA efficiency result is to derive the efficiency level of the TTO’s strategy from the observed performance. It also helps in identifying the benchmarking of other TTOs, which would be valuable information for improving their new technology commercialization strategy. In detail, a benchmark is provided to improve the weakness of strategy and resource allocation of a poorly performing TTO. The proposed matrix of indicators is an exploit of how performance could be measured within the decision-making units that have been chosen. By introducing the measure to commercialization strategy framework the development of technology transfer offices policies are considered.

The increase in food demand in Indonesia is one of the consequences of the imbalance between population growth and declining food products. One of alternative technologies that can be used in plant breeding programs to increase agricultural production, in order to meet food demands, is genetically modified organism (GMO) technology. This technology presents a lot of pros and cons among the public-related impacts that will be accepted by consumers. The purpose of this study was to determine the level of sustainability between GMO and non-GMO foods. The performance measurement model for GMO and non-GMO foods was considered according to the seven issues of sustainability that represented environmental, social, and economic aspects. The assessment method was conducted by using Adjusted Profit (AP) with Total Price Recovery (TPR) indicators and Total Factor Productivity (TFP) by utilizing the Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) Method. Assessments made on each supply chain component included agriculture, processing, and transport to wholesalers/retailers. This study used numerical examples of rice production in Indonesia. The research results found that the performance of non-GMO rice chain is better than GMO rice. It indicates that non-GMO rice is more sustainable. The results show that the proposed model can be applied to measure the sustainability of GMO and Non-GMO agri-food supply chain performance.

The innovation of electric motorcycle swap-battery (EMSB) technology encourages the formation of a new ecosystem at the early stage of the supply chain. The EMSB technology has allowed an open innovation system with collaboration between supply-chain players, universities, and the government for finding a thriving solution to enable the faster adoption and diffusion of EMSB in Indonesia. Standardization is seen as a way to accelerate the downstream EMSB technology innovation to leverage the economic benefits and to support the growth of a green economy in Indonesia. This study aimed to propose a model with which to measure the technology readiness of the EMSB’s stakeholders in implementing the swappable battery (SB) standard. We developed the technometric framework and Economic Benefits of Standards—ISO Methodology 2.0. We generated 13 criteria of technoware, humanware, inforware, and orgaware and 21 indicators of the standard’s impacts to be utilized as a measurement model. We interviewed 11 respondents consisting of the standard regulator, research and development center, manufacturer, testing labs, and product-certification bodies. The results show the technology contribution coefficient (TCC) and earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) value representing the SB standard’s feasibility. The proposed model can evaluate the weak points and propose strategies to leverage the SB standard’s technology readiness and economic benefits.
