Yunsong Li received an M.S. degree in telecommunication and information systems and a Ph.D. degree in signal and information processing from Xidian University, China, in 1999 and 2002, respectively. He is currently a professor at the State Key Laboratory of Integrated Service Networks at Xidian University, where he advises M.S. and Ph.D. students. He has authored or co-authored over fifty scientific and technical publications. He currently serves as a committee member of the Chinese Lunar Exploration Program and has been serving as a co-chair for the SPIE Conference on Satellite Data Compression since 2012. His research interests are in the fields of image and video compression and communications, image processing in remote sensing, and high-performance computing in image processing.
