Sumeet S. Aphale is a Professor of Electrical and Electronic Systems at the University of Aberdeen, U.K., where he leads the ARMS (Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, and Mechatronic Systems) Research Group. His research focuses on robotics, advanced control systems, mechatronics, smart and soft materials, nanopositioning, and vibration suppression. He has authored over 140 peer-reviewed publications and is an active member of the international research community, frequently contributing to and leading technical and program committees for several international conferences in robotics and control. He has also held Associate Editor roles for IEEE Control Systems Letters, the IEEE CSS Conference Editorial Board (CDC, ACC, and CTA), and Frontiers in Mechanical Engineering. His work has been recognized with several Best Paper Awards and Nominations, as well as the Principal's Excellence Award for Postgraduate Research Supervision.
